"Stem Cells - Sells! With Poems" with Tom, Rob & Byron

Thanks to the limits of the internet, this week’s episode is full of glitches and gabs. We were suppose to have a guest Dr who is a pioneer of stem cell treatments, but due to some scheduling cross wires they where not able to join our call. So we do what we love to do, which is have a good chin wag. I injured my back two years ago and was immediately put on Oxycodone and Naproxen by the trauma team and told to rest as much as possible. Two years down the line nothing was changing except the levels of medication rising as my tolerance did and a looming diagnosis of injury triggered fibromyalgia. I was talking to a student about it one day, who just happened to be a trauma rehab nurse and he said "Have you tried a tens machine?" I hadn't. Ordered one from Amazon that day, got it the next, and was pain free within a few weeks of daily use. Now in the process of weaning my body off of the stupid amount of NSAIDS and opiates I was put on for absolutely no reason at all. I feel I was robbed of two years of my life because doctors pushed pharmaceuticals instead of taking the time to identify twisted muscles that were fixed by electrical stimulus in just 3 weeks.

47:18 a movie that scarred me for life was the Grudge. Watched it at a friend's house when it was just released on dvd, I must have been around 16 or 17. There is this scene where one of the characters spontaneously starts to bleed to death and RIGHT AT THAT MOMENT I get a spontaneous nosebleed! (Which was due to a cold, but that's beside the point). I didn't sleep for a month and didn't watch horror movies for years after that

I literally just have to pop in really quick to say that Rob started discussing Marsupilami and I spazzed out for a second because I used to watch that with my 2 older sisters as a child!! I was just thinking about it randomly the other day and could not for the life of me remember what it was called! Then Rob described the song which vaguely rang a bell (please bear in mind I was very young, maybe 3-4 at the time? Maaaybe 5??) and then when he noted the long tail I knew that was it!!! Wow! That dragged me down nostalgia lane! Thanks for that! (And for telling me the name of that show which has been driving me bonkers for days!) this was a treasure to watch. You three never fail to make me laugh. I am so thankful for each of you and for everything that you do!

You three all have such an enjoyable mix of humour, quirky knowledge and quick wit that you can easily carry the podcast without guests. You rowed that boat wonderfully. The poetry reading was a highlight, the Bee Gee-ish reading was gold 😅. I agree, I liked the first "Thaw" poem better. It actually sparked a nice feeling of hope looking forward to the end of what will be a very long Canadian winter (literally and figuratively). So thank you for sharing that.

YES! That’s why your supposed to keep your baby teeth, Doctors can extract your own stem cells from those old baby teeth to potentially help with any injuries/ diseases that may pop up in the future. And your own stem cells are always the best match over anyone else’s! Didn’t know this until recently and it blew my mind 🤯🤯

I love each of these men dearly. So it's in respect that I offer that stem cell research could cure the type 1 diabetes I've had since I was six, for 31 years. There's no "sacrificing of a fetus" involved; it's tissue that would have been thrown out by research labs anyway, and there's no "ethical slippery slope" involved either. I'm glad you've brought it up as a topic of conversation, because it needs to be talked about more, with fewer misconceptions involved. So, gentlemen, please know that, jokes aside, it could save many thousands from suffering and eventually, serious complications to vital organs, and premature death. Lots of love and respect to you.

Marsupilami is a belgian cartoon super popular in French speaking countries like France and Belgium. I was actually surprised when Robert mentionned it because I didn't know that this cartoon was famous in Irland too, this show is so big I cannot name one person in France that have never heard of it !

I'm from Oklahoma guys, and we have a local yearly calf fry. Calf fries are baby cow testicles lol, and let me tell you, put some lemon juice and salt on those golden crispy little fried fritters and they are very tasty. The secret is to slice them thin before you batter them up and fry them. 😂

This episode was too funny! To comment on the being scared after watching something terrifying... I decided to watch Ghost Adventures👻 at night. And after the episode I had to use the washroom, but I was to scared. So I went to wake up my husband and I was like, 'hey, I have to pee.' Of course, he was like, good for you 👍. I started pushing him like, 'no, you have to wake up, come with me.' At this point he woke up and was like, 'you want me to do what?' I had to tell him I was afraid 😱to go to the bathroom because a ghost was going to turn of the lights on me and come out through the mirror. Of course his reaction while he attempted to go back to bed was like, 'well good thing you're already on the toilet!' After more pleading he finally got out of bed grumbling about putting a timer on the t.v. so I can't watch scary stuff after 9pm, he finally joined me.. then, as he stared at me with his arms crossed I was like, 'well I can't go if your looking!' Throwing his hands up he faced the wall. After, we went to bed..... And could you believe he put a timer on the damn t.v. to shut off at midnight! Do you know what that did to me when I was in the middle of watching Ghost Adventures on a different night!.😵.oh, he thought he was funny! oh man. Thankfully there isn't a timer on our t.v. & I don't watch that show or really anything scary anymore.🤣🤣
