i still wonder why you record these videos without a direct audio source from the Daw. Would be way more usefull....

Thanks so much guys! This was by far the most helpful tutorial I have ever watched. Good tutorials for how to mix and master EDM tracks using UAD plugins are almost impossible to find. You guys are awesome and I hope to work with you in the future.

Great video VOG tip was really helpful. Just to give a heads up for newbies the release on 1176 is in reverse to typical compressors. 7 is the quickest release setting and 1 is the slowest

Sorry - could this not have been filmed on a different day to the construction work? This is a video specifically about hearing small changed in audio and the fucking chainsaw massacre's going down in the other room,... really?... REALLY?

mix every channel on -12 db on each fader and you wil never have clipping problems or headroom problems

He showed the how bit, but not the why. Why not just bounce out your groups straight into a premaster? Is it more a CPU thing or is there some other reason for doing it like this?

Am I the only one who was sad to see that LabelWorx is using UAD Voice of God (VOG)? Isn't it well known that VOG is simply a resonant HP filter, that can easily be replaced by any EQ module in any DAW?
@labelworx8 жыл бұрын
It is not just a HP filter. I have just tried VOG compared with a couple of EQ's to get the same effect and it is no where near the same. VOG Generates harmonics and adds them to what is already there. You get a lot warmer, thicker sound than doing the same with just an EQ. I'm saying this after trying what you suggested too. Hope you found the rest of the video interesting :)

If you are gonna feel sad about things like this then you are gonna be depressed forever! So let the man use the plugins he is comfortable with 🙄

Super random but anyone know who makes that studio desk?
@sullyskillz098 жыл бұрын
Christopher Brandes probably custom built
@labelworx8 жыл бұрын
A guy who works in our office made the desk for us. He is a label manager but good with wood in his spare time ;)
