For my big stencils, I use a 12X12 scrapbook with 12X12 clear page protectors . I take a 12X12 sheet that I’ll never use for anything, turn the plain back up and stencil the pattern in it. Then I put the paper stenciled -side-up in the pocket. Behind it I put the stencil and anything I have with the identifying information. When I remove a stencil, I put a clip on the pocket so I can find it again easily. I’ve found starting with a stenciled page shows me what the pattern will look like-I just cannot visualize it from the stencil. I’ve discovered I really like some of the stencils I haven’t used yet.

That is exactly what I just pulled out of my older stash! Question, do you have any problems with stencils sticking to the page protector?

One of my favorite things to do is try new ideas to store all my card making dies and stamps and by doing so it refreshes my mind as to items I forgot I had and need to get using! Interesting video just as they all are. Love your work and your ideas. Thank you.

My large stencils are stored in a scrapbook, 12x12 I put color paper inside the sheet protectors and I can put two stencils in each. If there is an accompanying smaller stencil, 🎊I put the smaller stencil into a smaller sheet protector and then I insert it into the same sheet protector as the larger stencil. I hope that this is clear☺️

This is fantastic! I know this would add bulk, but if anyone is worried about stencils sticking together, a piece of parchment paper between them will prevent that!

I am so glad that you’ve posted this video Ceri. I am in the process of reorganizing my many stencils. Currently I am using a 1’ ring binder for the stencils that are my own design and a 4”ring binder for my PM Artist Studio stencils. The 4” ring binder is too unwieldy so I have decided to break my PM stencils down by designer. I like the fact that by using a 12x12 album such as you are using i can store all sizes of a design together. I think that I’ll put one 5” pocket on one page for the large stencil and 2 4”ports on the opposite page for the smaller sizes of the design. I will have a separate album for each designer.

Fantastic idea Ceri! If you didn't want to tear out a 3rd of the papers, you could put bigger diameter coils in, and your cinch would do the compressing of the bigger coil for you. Unless it's already one of the largest coils, hard to tell from my vantage point😊.

I use photo albums and the 12x12 photo sleeves. The book itself uses posts instead of wire binding and it has worked well till recently when I’ve had more stencils of odd shapes. Love your idea. Might do something like that for mine!

What a great idea. I have two photo albums/notebooks. One album is for 4x6 photos so I have my strippers and some 3' square ones that I double up in a pocket. Then my big album has the same page protectors you have and I use them for 8x10 and 5x7 stencils. It would be nice to have everything in one book. And I think I still have an album. It isn't ring-bound but I think it expands with posts. I'll need to look for it. Thanks so much for sharing and I look forward to hearing how it works.

Gorgeous idea. I currently use 4x6 cards with the stencil design, numbered/labeled and then put in page protectors in a binder, with corresponding number . It is crazy to realize I had over 100 stencils. I think can stop now. LOL

Love your work. I hung stencils on a rod on my wall, but too many so couldn't see or easily remove. But hanging, clipped onto a page, was better than standing them up in folder and then slumping and bending.

I put acetate sheets back on my 9x12, and it got bubbles, but I quickly used your tip about storing plates with the copy paper, and my plate is back to its original state! I had to pause your video and ran to put copy paper on my plate 😅 Thank you! ❤

I have made pockets with gel-printed wet strength tissue. For added strength and durability, I have folded the painted sheets in half and glued them together with mod podge, then, when dry, cut them to size. They are very strong, and thinner than copier paper.

To make the larger side full page you could carefully attach with a strip of washi across the bottom edge that would go half on each side of page. I would use glue to make sure it stayed. Oh, another thought, maybe use a strip of wet strength tissue that way nothing would stick inside the pocket, and it is minimal thickness. Great ideas and beautiful way to use images that you want to see for your own inspiration. As always, another great idea. The little booklet with Darcy's stencils was a good one to see also. THANKS.

That is a great idea.and your pockets could be prints of the stencils for that section. I've found what works for me is a type front and back with holes, then use twine to close. It gives me the ability to expand contents. I go so far, then start another. Im really a beginner, but it all adds up as I learn, and experiment. I'm a player with cardboard. Lol the notebooks just dont have enough spine area when bulk is a consideration. And I can decorate as I wish.but a notebook for each artist stencils a great idea. I love your papers you are using for pockets. Take care

Ok, I’m back and watched it all. You inspired me (yet again), to look back to my own story. My grandpa was a BINDER, and he used to to make music albums, those with the LP inside and the title of the vinyl perfectly readable thru the round hole on the paper craft envelope that was the “page”. So between your wonderful idea, my history and the inspiration I think I can come up with a solution that fits my needs. Thank you Ceri, I promise pics of my one..❤
