I came to comment this exact thing! A respirator meant for fine airborne silica particles, basically an n95 mask will do the trick. Frit dust is hazardous to your lungs and all the big fusible glass manufacturers warn people to use a respirator while working with frit.

When I use my laser cut wooden stencils I use push pins pushed into the stencil, making it easier to lift off from the glass.
