If you've seen the stentor video where he shows his Factory his father started out in the late 1800s. he in the 1990s moved to China. But he shows his Factory in China and it's all handmade the lacquers are applied by hand they're not sprayed and it's all using the same techniques that were used hundreds of years ago. They use a natural hot glue so that the violin can be repaired down through the generations They're VERY good. All hand-carved and using calipers on every part so the thickness of the solid wood is correct and very precise. However the cecelios are also the same way. made in China by hand and they're half the price as stentor. In fact I think stentor says that his wood is aged at least 3 years. Cecilia's are age 7 years

There's sure to be a Canadian counterpart, but here in the US, we have Shar. It's an actual brick and mortar store that has a huge presence online selling violin family instruments. They also have inhouse violin makers and an incredible repair department that sets up every instrument that leaves their door. They also send instruments out for trial playing so people can test them out before buying. Even the lowest cost student packages a real music store like Shar sends out will come with a good bow, good strings, a properly fitted bridge, sound post, and nut.
