Hey Dr, is a facebow from the pt's mouth more accurate compared to the mounting plate when mounting these cases? I've never used the plate before. Only facebows. I mainly design digitally, but my Dr loves to see cases mounted on a Stratos 100. Thanks!

yes, a do use a facebow quite often and would advise it. Many dentists don't use the facebow so I didn't include it in this video. In addition, facebows vary between articulators so that would be additional information that isn't included in this particular video. Glad to hear you are mounting the cases in your office! Is this done with wax rims and wax teeth when the patient is partially edentulous?

very informative. Do you think that need a special resin that do not modify in contact with articulating plaster?

So I use various ways to adhere the models to plaster now. Sometimes, I will have someone drill large holes in the base of the model and the plaster will flow into the holes and retain the models. Other ways I've done this is simply to use velcro tabs and stick them to the model. When the plaster sets, it binds to the velcro. I've also tried double sided thick take but prefer the above.

@@dr.agathabis I am new to resin models. Apparently some of the resin does not take very well contact with the plaster. Until now I printed models with honeycomb structure and the plaster flow inside the holes, but in time the plaster will expand and fracture the model.

@@Ciprinol try printing a platform then drill large holes for the cement to flow in. That's what I've been doing for a few years now and it works the best for me
