Just do what you can and you will learn, even if it is just a $50 panel with it's own MPPT, you will gain knowledge.

Hey brother, I’m right behind you. I’m finishing up my plans to move to my off grid property in Latimer county. I’m going solar and putting in a sawmill to cut my own lumber.

Great video to show how easy it is to go solar. Just one word of caution to the folks watching, you might want to replace the 2 gauge wiring on the inverter to 1/0 or 2/0 for safety. If you are pulling 2000 watts at 12v that’s 150+ amps.

Will it run a well pump? For house?
@petercampbell357918 сағат бұрын
Put that saw under load, like feed it some wood. You’d be way better off running 24v since you have everything (minus the inverter)
@FLOrchardHome5 сағат бұрын
Agree. You can find a 24v 2000w inverter for less than $200.

For the battery connection just make sure one connection to battery 1 is positive and battery 2 is negative ie not positive and negative on battery 1. That way the power is drawn equally on both batteries

Great video with useful easy to understand information. For clarification, the positive from the solar panels go to the PV+ on the charge controller? Because you said it the other way around.

The saws will draw more from the inverter when under a load, cutting wood.
@GratefulRob15 сағат бұрын
If you wanted to hook up a battery generator (like a jakery or ecoflow) would you just hook it to the “load” connections on the controller?
@OKLAHOMAOFFGRID14 сағат бұрын
@@GratefulRob you can just plug your jackery in to the inverter like you plug it into the wall. The load or the so-called 12 volt that comes out of the load is more like for something such as 12 volt lighting in a boat Oreo 12-volt lights and small appliances in an RV.

DON'T!!!! Electric bills are MUCH easier to manage than a few thousand for solar!!! Someday, cheaper and more productive solar will come... it's just not here yet. I speak from some experience. I went solar 4 years ago and have not saved a dime. When the dust all settled, I wish I just get my money and not gone solar. Again, the time WILL come. Just not here yet.😮
@vincentsgaming12 сағат бұрын
Depends what state you live in and the hourly rates utilities charge per kwh. Also for homes not connected to electric already sometimes it's wayyyyy cheaper and economical to go solar as they will charge $25k-60k to run power to your house with poles and digging and then you have the monthly charge ontop of electricity usage. Not worth it for a lot of ppl especially off grid. I'm in the people's republic of california and our rates in socal is like .48kwh. Its insane. Normal electric bill is about $500-$800 a month for electricity especially during the summer. It shouldn't be that high.
@MrLasox5 сағат бұрын
It's really depends. If you wan't too get no bills, then you need too have a big solar panel array, not these small once. They will just charge up for example lamp or something like that, but if you are having 20 or 30 panels, then you could seriously be thinking about getting zero bills. But, if you are just having 4 100 watts, or 1-2 400 watts solar panels, then that won't help you much, but it's a start. For example at one good day one 400 watt from allpower can keep up my computer at the best sunny days.
@woodzyfox47353 сағат бұрын
thats all you got for $1000? We can do SO MUCH better. and have :P i got 6 320W 40V panels for 110 each

I personally understand where you're coming from but there are many people out there that need a kit that is already put together or a so-called all in one that makes it easier for them to install and certain companies have these kids like equal Worthy and anytime you buy a kit it's going to be a slight bit higher than if you completely did it yourself building the system panel by panel and then choosing your specific inverter and your specific batteries ECT
