I prefer to use the dura spark distributor because it can be matched with an MSD ignition module. and because it uses the identical pick-up as MSD. and it's a true CDI (capacitive discharge ignition). and there isn't any of the fitment issues associated with the HEI distributor. but otherwise this looks like good EFI to carburetor conversion.

I just did this over the summer. Only problem I did run into was my 84.5 gt350 had a strange year aod with a rod for pressure that looks like a kick down lever. It took a while to get it adjusted right but after that it was wonderful.

I have this engine and want to swap into my 64 with a 4 barrel carburetor. Seeing it's possible gives me hope. I just wanna thank u guys for showing the good with the bad. Showing it's not always gonna go perfect. I figured the distributor was gonna be the only real problem I'd run into it since it has to do with timing. Good video overall man

Great video, it answered all the questions I had, I had been wondering if I could run my 95 with a carb without molesting it,and easily re install the EFI again I didn't see why you couldn't just remove the EFI intake assembly tuck some of the stuff aside adapt into the fuel lines with a regulator toss an intake carb and hei on it and let her eat...

Good video, I did this too. You can grab those two wires further back at the two small round connectors behind the drivers side strut tower, this allows you to remove the whole engine harness. Thanks!
@HiRevzMedia Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yea I know, we were just have some anxiety cutting it all out right then. I left it were someone could go back, worse-case senario. I might end up doing it later though.
@Buck_Em_Garage Жыл бұрын
@@HiRevzMedia don’t have to cut anything. The main engine harness comes out nicely. The two connectors I’m talking about come out of the firewall behind the driver side tower. You can get oil pressure and coolant temp wires from there. It really cleans the engine bay up. :) It’s nice to see somebody put up a simple video with all the basic steps of the swap. Again, nice work! My 87GT is slightly quicker since the swap. I’m decent with carbs so that helps too!!

wondering if that loose lower intake was causing issue with the efi (vacuum leak?)
@HiRevzMedia Жыл бұрын
The lower intake wasn’t loose. However, even if it was, it would stop the injectors from firing.
