I LOVE THIS!!!!!! humorous and educational! I really enjoyed this animation from the beginning till the end, it sure was a fun ride. I use SFM for animating but I can still apply all the stuff from the video to my animation not to mention the way how I animate is heavily inspire from gmod, both funny and serious animations. At the end of the video, I would chose the path to make videos for fun because I find animating characters that I really like to be a comforting experience but animating is very hard and a frustrating process. I fell into a trap that ended me solely on practicing and improving my animation without having fun making stuff for a long time until recently I decided to let go and just animate for fun without worrying about flaws and whatnot, it was the best decision I've made. Animating is tough but it's rewarding, it's like when you finished an animation all you could think is "I finished this, I did this, I did it" I'm still learning but I'm also having fun while animating stuff. Sorry If I went off the rails there but I gotta let it out!! thank you for making this video.

Hi! This video really helped me a lot. Even though the video is 11 minutes long, I never got bored and enjoyed watching it. I'm pretty good at SMH, but puppetry is so hard for me. Is it possible to freeze the upper body but not the lower body like in 4:25? The statue tool freezes the whole ragdoll. How do you make a hand rubbing scene like at 6:40? I know it would be easy in SMH, but it looks like puppetry, so I ask. How do you throw a bonk like at 8:13? You can only throw a bonk, but in the video Scout's arm is also frozen. How do you swing the heavy's arm like in 9:11, is it a thruster and if so, where do you attach it? I ask because there are only SMH tutorials on KZbin and very few puppetry tutorials.

To answer those 4 questions: 1. Yes, you use the weld tool on parts of a ragdoll, and you can unfreeze it with the physgun. 2. That part was just done in the SMH tool 3. To have a prop be thrown out of the hand without SMH, you the weld tool and don't have the force limit on "0." Altho, now it's really sensitive no matter when number besides 0 you set it on. 4. Use the thrusters, attach them on hands, and/or legs, make them invisible with the color tool

also to make some scenes that you dont wanna animate but make them goofy, you can use the ragmorph mod, if you want the character to go fast you can set the game speed to 2 or more

There's an addon called "Wire Mod." I don't use alot of its features cuz I'm not expert on it. But when I use it, I normally choose the text options. Once you subscribe to it and choose its text, you can choose any display and customize the texts however you want!

1. Hold "C" in the content menu in-game to disable the beams. Be far away from said ragdoll, or get the invisible playermodel addon to hide yourself completely on camera. 2. That's a question we ask ourselves everytime when recording ragdoll movements, lol! Just do your best.

Wait, I misread that 2nd question! Lol 🤦‍♂️ To make the limbs stay still while moving the ragdoll, you can use the weld tool to weld limbs to the ragdoll itself. Sorry, I read that 2nd question as "How to move the ragdoll perfectly off camera without screwing up?" Lol

How did you make the ragdolls hold something during the use of SMH or in animation overall? For example 8:11-8:13 Please share me your knowledge

I think from what I could recall, I also used the SMH tool for that can to animate (of course you need to use the No Collide tool for the prop and ragdoll first), and then used the weld tool to attach to the hand and then made Scout throw it away. But for some reason, when using the weld tool, setting the force limit to at LEAST "1" the weld will break easily when trying to throw something out of someone's hand, and that can be the annoying part

Thank you very much for liking this! And I've answered this to many, the TTS voice I've used is Mike's voice in NaturalReaders website, and there are many ways to get it, like downloading it, convert youtube vids to mp3.
