Step by step guide : Fetching a web page with a nodemcu \ esp8266

In this tutorial I explain and demonstrate , how to get a web page (in this case my youtube channel about stats ) and show data out of it via a nodemcu or esp8266 on a I2C lcd display .
I used the Arduino ide to code .

Great video, I've been waiting for the esp8266 library and support to grow, now these nodemcu modules are getting fairly cheap and widespread, I'll jump back into it, it was a hard battle dealing with the -01 series of modules! Just one question, I see you always use the 16x2 displays, any particular reason ?

The 16x2 lcd i2c displays are easy to hook up and easy to use.

In my case for youtube I was unable to fetch the data , was getting the error -> Error parsing document, try a different parse string (most probably because youtube has custom defined elements or it was unable to pass the authentication part). Fetching a different website worked though

sir i uploaded this test program to my esp8266( ch340 v3 lua wifi IOT) and accidental save it as init.lua and now it is not connecting to my pc plz help ... it is just flashing and led i want to reset it as it was lighton=0 tmr.alarm(0,1000,1,function() if lighton==0 then lighton=1 led(512,512,512) -- 512/1024, 50% duty cycle else lighton=0 led(0,0,0) end end)

Which LiquidCrystal_I2C.h Library does this project use? I've tried using this lib: github.com/fdebrabander/Arduino-LiquidCrystal-I2C-library but it "has not member named "init" ...

Rewrite it to say lcd.begin instead of lcd.init
