Love these types of comments! I wish social media/KZbin was a thing back when I started out in pumping. I absorbed a good amount knowledge from guys whom I worked alongside over the years, but boy oh boy did I still did also learn a lot through my own mistakes on the job site. It’s really exciting to see others getting active in the comments section with good suggestions and advice. Thank you you watching and commenting 🙏🙏🙏

Nice work, generally I bleed the air completely on the last 2 hoses and reset either compressor or dive bottle on last 2 hoses to reduce amount of air in line. Good to see nice control of air pressure👍🏻
@canadianconcretepumper1979
@canadianconcretepumper1979 Жыл бұрын
That’s exactly how I prefer to do it (especially with longer runs of line). The longer/larger the run of line , the more difficult to dimness that sponge ball out the end of that last hose.

We run a petrol mounted air compressor with two holding tanks it's not a massive air compressor but big enough to blow out 100m of line easy. We run steels as concrete here is very aggressive makes blowing out easier follow the ball as you do just lightly taping steel pipes you can hear where it is. We only run 3-4inch line and only let it go to 50psi and we also have a ball catcher at the end hose incase something dramatic happens the ball isn't gonna go flying into someone's face. It's just a clamp and we welded small steel rods on end about half an arm length let's concrete out might be something useful for you. Great work 👍👍

We have used the ball-catcher with larger line (4” steel pipe). Typically though we are using/blowing out small line (2” and 2.5” rubber hose). I’m not a fan of having any metal attached to the discharge end of the rubber line. Steel pipe however it is very handy, as you had mentioned. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

For longer runs of larger diameter system we’ll run this compressor in series with a single 5 gallon air tank. It definitely helps, but this little Milwaukee is still quite small for the application.

interesting not having a certain blowout port on your linepmup and we just use a cap here in Aus. Good vid to watch though AJ thanks for the content

Yeah, this little truck runs hydraulic brakes. We’d looked into options for having a 12V compressor mounted to the pump, but then stumbled upon this little battery powered Milwaukee. It’s gets the job done, but is painfully slow.

I got blown up in 2003 off a c02 tank. Air of any flavor DEMANDS respect. Personally, I blow back to the hopper at every opportunity. Containment is definitely a nice safety net. Look forward to more fun...

The 24m pump that I operate usually has a dedicated airpump for blowing out, I've never had to use it tough and would need to get blow out caps and stuff to use it, but it's pretty neat how it works, I can enable the pump on the remote and start and stop it then using the same switch on the remote that you use to pump concrete with, it doesn't have a tank or anything and I would imagine it pumps up pressure slowly.
@canadianconcretepumper1979
@canadianconcretepumper1979 Жыл бұрын
Is that similar to the setup used for activating the air-cuff? I do remember years ago seeing a remote controlled air solenoid setup offered by I believe it was Transcrete. The principle was that one guy could manage the blowout on his own. Seemed like a really slick setup.
@kjartanB
@kjartanB Жыл бұрын
@@canadianconcretepumper1979 it's an option on the screen on the remote. I can turn it on and then when I engage pumping it turns on the air pump instead of the concrete pump.

Just tried that with a 1.5Hp 6Gal tank .. no luck. didn’t have the Chicago fitting converter to my airline hose so I just removed the Chicago fitting end on the blowout cap and twisted in the 3/8th Nut….. is that my problem? Air was getting thru but compressor couldn’t keep up … thanks
@canadianconcretepumper1979
@canadianconcretepumper1979 10 ай бұрын
With smaller compressors especially, it is critical that you don’t have air leaking at any of the fittings and/or clamp gaskets. The smaller compressor won’t produce enough volume to overcome such air leaks. Also, be certain that your sponge is a tight fit inside of the hose and air is not getting passed it. It is imperative to have an air pressure gauge on the blowout cap and that you be able to see that your producing at least 50 psi of air in the hoses just to get the concrete moving at the start, then modulate downwards from there as sponge travels closer towards the discharge end.

@@canadianconcretepumper1979 awesome thank you. I think I messed up by not adding any sponges, was planning to blowout the concrete then run a sponge with water after. Will give it another run thanks

We push with water.
@canadianconcretepumper1979
@canadianconcretepumper1979 Жыл бұрын
The issue we’ve had with using water to push is that it often works it’s way passed the sponge-ball and causes segregation in the lines. I’ve had quite a few guys suggest that we instead try using tightly wadded up paper in place of the sponge-ball to reduce chances of segregating. Perhaps in a future video 😁😁😁
