You have to measure the length runs on both sides because of the slab it self. You end up putting yourself in an issue when you have the sqft you need but not lengths.

Folks please take into consideration that some granite and quartz businesses will charge you for the size of the slab they use. Its like you needing 27 square feet of plywood but you have to purchase a full sheet of plywood which is 32 square feet. That means you ve paid for an extra 5 square feet you didn’t need.
