Watch in 4k!
In this video, I go from start to finish on installing a Whipple Supercharger stage 2 kit with upgraded dual fan heat exchanger. I made a couple mistakes along the way, so you may want to watch the video in it's entirety before diving in to your own install to learn from my mistakes.
I hope this helps someone out there, as there didn't seem to be anything out there like this when I was first attempting the install. If it does help you, let me know in the comments!
If you are in to Mustangs, follow me on IG @H3llhorse
If you are in to Jeep Grand Cherokees, follow me on IG @H3llbeast
I will be supercharging my Jeep soon and will also do a How-To video on that as well.
Thank you for watching!

I'm currently following your video on my 2015 Mustang GT - Stage 2 Kit - I'm at step #63. So far, so good. I had to make a major detour at step #59 to install a billet oil pump gear set (MMR) - that was a hoot! Hopefully I got the timing chains put on correctly!! In any case, when this is all done, and it all comes out as planned, I'd like to send you a nice bottle of wine or a case of good beer - your effort in making this video is much appreciated, and is an incredibly valuable resource for average guys like me who choose to take on this project by themselves.

I installed a whipple 2.9 on my 2015 mustang gt and it took 3 years and the crank snout broke off, all they gona say is you installed everything wrong but its just that the superchargers create alot of harmonics, vibrations and loads on the crank, a crank support will help but still cant avoid the harmonics and vibrations

Haha, like I said, only real mechanical experience is minor work on my motorcycles/dirt bikes. replaced a clutch, a starter, rebuilt a carb, and thats about as far as my experience level goes. This was a great experience and I learned a ton from doing it. Because of the experience I gained from doing this, I was able to troubleshoot and replace my buddy's throttle body on his Jeep compass, and it turned out great!

Fantastic video dude! I've seen a couple others but they gloss over everything and turn a 20 hour install into a 15 minute video. I bought the same package from Palm Beach Dyno in FL. Seemed to have the best price at the time and the guys there are very knowledgeable and helpful. I was going to install it myself like I always do but this time I found a local shop (Dez Racing) that had done dozens of these so I was willing to pay the $1800 to insure that I didn't screw something up. This blower turned my GT into a completely different car. It was fairly quick stock but nothing close to what it became. Absolutely love it. I'd done things like cams, intakes, heads, etc. on my other Mustangs but after spending thousands I ended up with performance gains but nothing like this. Screw the other mods, put this on and call it a deal. The car feels completely stock when you drive it casually but when you put your foot into it - hang on and make sure it's pointed straight.

i have same on 2017 and get 11.8 avg mpg driving semi aggressive. moreso the rear tires (Pirelli) suck and were changed to 295/30/19 Toyo R888R with much improved traction. but be aware this car goes thru a new set every 5000 miles @$365/piece. Figure that into cost of operation, and this isn't from roasting tires, it's from normal driving a blown car.

I watched this video all the way through and didn't skip a second. Thanks for putting this out. Let's me know it's probably worth 3 grand to have a shop do it! That looks SO painful and time consuming! Hats off to you for having the patience and determination to do it yourself

@norsepowergarage2627 4 жыл бұрын
Hey josh! You definitely won’t have any lack of power getting an s550 and this stage two Whipple! You’ll need some fat sticky tall sidewalls in order to keep traction or you’ll be on ice skates. Thanks for watching the whole install! That’s pretty impressive for not doing the install yourself haha. There might be shops willing to do it for 1500 depending on where you live. Get a bunch of quotes! I’m the type of person that hates spending money on services that I can do myself (or I think I can do myself) so it was definitely worth it to me. If you want the work warrantied (I think Whipple requires a certified shop in order to honor their warranty maybe?) then have the pros do it. Maybe call Whipple first and ask them what shops the recommend for warrantied work. Good luck!

@@norsepowergarage2627 Yeah I'm guessing it should be on par with my Z06. I'm painfully aware of how shitty traction is on high horsepower, front engine rear wheel drive cars. I ran Toyo R888Rs on the Z and that made a world of difference.

@@richardcoan1 not sure if you're trying to troll or what but if you read my comment, I don't have a Z06 anymore so it wouldn't do anything at all to "my" Z06. Also, the Z06 runs high 10s stock. With the R888Rs, it's down to mid 10s. Would definitely take more than JUST a supercharger for a Coyote to run low 10s and be faster, even with wrinkle walls.

Instead of unclipping the fuel pump clip, why didn't you just take out the fuel pump fuse?

Just a quick question . Is really the gear oil pump a must to do in this engines when installing a supercharger. That gear oil pump requires the engine removal and it’s kind a of a lot of work. I just need like 600hp . Will it reliable without replacing the gear oil pump?

This had 825-850 hp and I took it to the track (willow springs) and to the drag strip and ran the piss out of it and it never even flinched. You’ll be fine :)

Im about to do this very soon. I see you had a lot of issues tightening down the lower intake manifold with that 5mm ball head. Seems as if the fuel rail and top SC is in the way. What if you set the lower intake manifold down first then torqued down the bolts then put the fuel rails on while it was on the car then lowered the SC head unit? Im thinking that would work?

Yeah I think someone else mentioned the same thing, I can’t quite remember if that would work but definitely worth a shot. I don’t really see why it wouldn’t, I just didn’t want to deviate from the whipple instructions.

Hello. I’m stuck on step 99 of my July 2019 version of the instruction manual. Here’s what it says: “99. (Complete kits) Install the supplied IAT sensor to RH bank of intake manifold. No pipe Teflon is needed.” I have the sensor (looks like a spark plug), but I have no idea where this thing goes. There is no hole in the right hand side of the Whipple intake manifold (which I assume is the passenger side). You don’t cover this in the video. Any ideas on this? Thanks
@robertwolfman286
@robertwolfman286 5 жыл бұрын
Problem solved - a hex nut on top of the driver’s side intake manifold is a placeholder for this sensor - I removed it and the sensor went right in.
