Hi Chuck, yes I used gloss on the pelicans. I use Rustoleum Painters Touch satin at times for other animals too, they both go on really well.

When making the long skinny pieces i pulled too hard and it tore can they be fixed or am i just out of luck

Hi, is it pulled completely off? If not, you can use a filler to repair it. I use DAP Platinum Patch, it’s easy to use and is good for outdoors. Or Bondo Glass (2 parts, requires mixing). I use the Bondo on anything that has flex in it. I’d get it bent to where you want it, then patch it. I wouldn’t recommend using the heat gun on the patch.
