@@unearthingphilosophy Would have to see it to give an opinion, but sometimes the prognosis will be poor or questionable when restoring severely broken down teeth like the one in this video. To restore a tooth like this in the video, assuming that you had to do the root canal too, which was already done, you'd be looking at 3-4K easily, so the implant is not that much more.

Hi, I'm a dental student and I really appreciate your work and talent ! I want to ask why a root canal retreatment wasn't done in this case ? The gutta was exposed and the cavity removal could leak bacteria into the canal, is the desinfection and crown enough ? Or did you prefer to do it this way and have a chirurgical endodontic procedure in case of periodontal inflammation? In your workfield experience, did you find that redoing a root canal in this case useless and that the case succeed without it ? Thank you in advance !

You can do an RCT again, but there isn't alot that you would gain from it. Hypo rinses along with good isloation is more than enough in Post and core. Removing old gutta can also be traumatic to the rest of the dentin present.

Depends on the case. There must be enough healthy tooth structure above the gum line to be able to withstand the forces of chewing. If there isn’t, any dental work will simply break. For example, if the tooth in this video was decayed below the gum line, most all dentists would say pull the tooth. Or if this much tooth structure remained, but it was on a back tooth (where chewing forces are extreme), most all dentists again would say pull the tooth. To be honest, it’s not hard doing this dentistry. The real question is “will it last, or break in 6 months”?

My doctor do this too a week ago he did my tooth I broke my 4 bridges then he look at my X-ray and he saw one tooth has decay But he try to fix just like the video becoz I told him I don’t want implant so he try to fix it now he save my smile on that day he put temporary tooth I’m going back for my final tooth this coming July I can really recommend. Him the numb u can’nt even feel it he did a great job. If anyone had tooth problem I’m from houston u need Dr Jeffery chứ he do implant too

How did you do that without an X-ray control, or you have a supemen X-ray sight...

He only needs an Xray for this case to measure the Bio-Width, and he can roughly estimate that with a gingival probe......roughly So xray could be avoided ad there is no need for it for a single canal anterior tooth that is already endodontically treated. But tbh, i think he did an Xray and studied the case thoroughly before attempting to save the lateral but he didn't show it here coz he just wants to focus on clinical work and not detailed case study
