If I need to administer a based oil substance, will be enough with a 27 gauge in the quad (lean patient), or a 25 gauge is needed?

Always label the syringe with the medication and amount if preparation happens away from pts room

Feeling so thankful for this video! 🥰 Also how do you know whether to go at 45 or a 90 degree angle when giving a subcut injection?
@NurseErica3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chiara, you decide by the amount of underlying subcutaneous tissue. For limited subcutaneous tissue, insert at 45 degree angle.

@@NurseErica That is very helpful to know I've also been confused and nervous about which one to do! Thank you!

Hi, I am administering my partners Tinzaparin (blood thinner) for him. We were recently instructed to start rotating his injection sites, I am only familiar with doing his stomach/abdomen area. Do I need to go at a 45° angle in the back of the arm and in the leg? And should the needle enter the back of the arm in an upward motion or downward motion? Also, should I press down in it after with a gauze or cotton ball to avoid bruising? Thank you for any additional tips, I don't want him to miss any doses and I just want to make sure I am doing it properly.
