FANTASTIC transformation and only your first!! You could quadruple what you paid for that, all day long. The next step is to electro-etch your personal touch mark into the blade. By using a cup of salt water, a 9V battery, a home made stencil and your imagination (I use electrical tape cut with an Exacto for the stencil) it’ll look like you stamped a 9th c. mark into the blade. Goes quite deep into the metal. Works great on gun barrels too. Look it up! Anyway, you were one step ahead of all us who kvetched about not seeing a build video. Thank you!

Found it funny you put a cross on a heathen sword scabbard to protect it from the heathens, lol, cool video, I love midevil and viking weapons just as much as I love black powder weapons, they both played incredibly important roles in history and without those weapons we wouldn't have the advanced weapons we have today, thanks for sharing, always love to see you put up a new video, you have truly given myself and I'm sure many others a wealth of knowledge and information for black powder weapons and i for one am very appreciative that you come on here and share your knowledge with us, so thank you Mr Beliveau.

I think you did a good job on the grip especially for it being your first time. I always wondered if that sword was blued, painted, powder coated etc. I watched some videos of guys just beating the heck out of this sword, I mean serious abuse and it held up. I thought about buying one, hey it's cheap and tough, but the finish always stopped me. Now that I know maybe I'll get one for a beater. I've been into Viking & Saxon reenacting since 1982. Your cross doesn't bother us Heathens lol. I enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing.

Love the makeover on the sword. I wish you would do a video on making a proper sheath. It seems like you can buy an acceptable sword but the sheath/scabbard is more of an after thought. Just something to get them out of the door. Great video by the way.

Great work, especially for a first go. The blades on these look pretty good and could be re hilted to cover a wider range of history.

It’s basically a Sticklestad and likewise the Acre Sword is a Classic Medieval Sword. Joyfully, I received my CMS from Museum Replicas yesterday! It’s quick for a knightly sword. The grip and scabbard are better than I expected. I made my choice based in part on your reviews of the Acre Sword and the Uthbert Sword. Windlass is happily satisfactory - if you know what I mean. Great job in all your reviews, Mike!

In the shooting videos, you look the part. Like an older local judge, or business owner, who has need for a pistol, or a landowner who needs to shoot vermin. But the real value in your channel is in your knowledge of the history of the firearms, and in your workshop videos, showing gunsmithing techniques. I can’t imagine you as a Viking. It was a business for younger men than you or I. So, I want the history, the workshop videos where you modify the sword. I want to know how you build the scabbard. But most of all, the history. The reenactments are interesting to me only when you show and comment on period correct costumes.

Scabbards were highly personalized, and reflected the taste and status of the owner almost more so than the sword itself, so if you want white linen more power to you.

I have a nagging question, germane in general to your build videos. How come we never hear Mary Pat calling down to you, asking things such as; "are you are almost done"; "what is that strong smell"; or, "I hope you're doing something productive, and that doesn't mean guns"? What in Heaven's name is your secret?
