Hello Shambhu, i have C1111-4PLTEE it is freezing and goes like hybernation or similar after a while have to reboot it manually physically and there is red light on it pls give me some troubleshooting steps so I can fix this issue if u have any suggestion pls let me know ASAP, and thanks for making this wonderful content really appreciate.

Hi Anand, Freez can be related with two major reasons either network traffic or some problem with router itself. I see that you are seeing red/amber LED on the router status LED this means there is something wrong with the device itself. Console logs can help in this, check if you see anything appearing in console. If all the time it is getting fixed with reload then possible no hardware issue but something wrong with software. I personally try to trace the source of this by checking syslog etc but if you want to fix it quickly you may also try upgrading the router to the latest version available on cisco website, I dealt with one software bug on this router related to freeze 2 years ago so upgrade may help. You can also try disconnecting all the connected interfaces at the time of the issue to see if this helps and with this we can also find out the source interface or connected hardware which might be causing this.

@@shambhunathmishra6046 i saw the logs not find any Issues, will check with software upgradation and also check interface thanks for your suggestions. Could u tell me how to check if software already upgraded or not what are the commands ? Actually I am handling 1st time Cisco's 4g router so don't have deep knowledge about it. "show version" will tell you the software that you are running on the router, you can check on software.cisco.com if you have latest one or not. You may also reach to Cisco TAC, by this way you will find the solution quick.thanks

This should be visible within 15 mins of router reboot, if you are still not seeing this then try to factory default the AP. The method to factory default is in the above video.

Hi this video talks exactly about this , when you start the router first time you should see cisco air provisioning SSID, you can connect to it and you will get a page to configure SSID etc for the users. In this video I am configuring an SSID and connecting to it (Mynet). I think if you follow this video step by step this should help you.

Shambhu, I have a 4PWB like the one in your video. I'm on the latest MD of the firmware, 17.3.4a. I cannot get the SSID to broadcast, just get a red flashing light on the front of the router. I tried a factory reset of the AP via the error recovery command as well as a write erase of the whole router. It boots, goes green, then later starts flashing red. Any ideas on what's going on? This is a brand new unit.

Hi Anon, at the begining of the video I have an output "show platform" in that output ISR-AP1100AC-B is access point. Do you see " OK " for the AP in this output ? If yes then you may try to factory reset the AP and reload the router. Follow this video to know the factory reset method. Thanks ,Shambhu

@@shambhunathmishra6046 yup, already ran that command. Shows “ok” status for the imbedded AP. Factory reset of the AP and router did not work.

@@AnontheGOAT When you run the hw-module subslot x/y error-recovery password_reset command, the AP module automatically reloads to restore the configuration settings and enters the maintenance mode. In the maintenance mode, the AP module is on power on mode. When the module configuration reset is confirmed through the console or web UI, the hw-module subslot x/x reload force command reloads the AP and then quits the maintenance mode.

@@AnontheGOAT what was your solution? I was able to reset the AP but I still cannot get the mobility express SSID to broadcast. It broadcasted an SSID name KEY and I was able to log into it with the security password I set in the AP, but I still cannot open the mobility express web interface.

Hey Shambhu, I have a C1111-4PWE brand new router, and after running the hw-module session 0/2 command, It does not broadcast the ciscoAirprovison ssid, instead it takes me to Controller configuration in the CLI. I do all that but still can't get it to broadcast the ssid. I can't ping the Management ip either :( Does the router need to be connected to the internet to broadcast the ssid ? Any help will be appreciated.

@@johnkatende3 Hi John, You do not need to do anything to get the SSID. I remember when I turned on the router for the first time it took some 15 mins for SSID to be visible. You don't need to login to the AP module with the session command to make it visible. SSID should appear by default. One good thing is you are able to login to the AP module which means it is up and active. Try to do a factory reset once and wait for 15 mins it should come up.

You mean a factory reset of the whole router or the AP/controller configurations? Because I was able to go through the cli configuration anf set up employee wifi but its not broadcasting that ssid either.
