I have always heard pastors say when teaching about predestination that we chose God first so He chose us. I always knew in my spirit that this wasn’t accurate. Thank you for your teaching on this often misinterpretation of scripture. I thank God every day for choosing a sinner like me to be part of His family!

I suppose people like to think there is something they can contribute to their salvation. How many times have I heard somebody say they are a good person. I think of the song Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretched like me. I once was lost but now I’m found was blind but now I see. I was converted in a hell and damnation church. Sadly I don’t think there are many of those about these days.

@@richardjohanson6421 John 6:44-45 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me DRAWS them, and I will raise them up at the last day. 45. It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me." God does not drag people but draws them. Those that listen and learn from the Father are given to Jesus, but that doesn't mean that the others were not also called and had the opportunity to believe in and be included in Jesus. The predestination of those in Jesus to salvation and conformity with the likeness of Jesus, is not dependent on God choosing to save some and damn others for no apparent reason. If people listen and learn from God they will be saved, but they have free will to choose if they will listen right up until either the point of salvation or up until the point of death. I repeat God does not predestine who will be in Jesus, but He does predestined that once people ARE in Jesus, they will be saved. Salvation is by faith alone, not by predestination alone. When we read the book of Romans we see faith CONTRASTED against works. What some want to make out is that if man exercises faith himself, even with help from God, that that faith somehow counts as a work of righteousness. It is contradicting what is actually in Romans.

Yes, we chose God, with His help. The doctrine that God chose those that would be saved, and simply left others with a false, ineffective call, is to put the blame on God for anyone continuing in sin and unbelief. The Bible doesn't say God drags some to salvation and just lets the rest go to hell. It says that God is drawing ALL men to Himself. Another problem related to this is the idea that God cannot be God,if He relinquishes the tiniest iota of His sovereignty to mankind. Intimately they end up making God the author of sin. They preach such an absolute control that nothing could ever happen or have happened, that their god didn't causally decree to happen. IE they end up teaching that God must not only have allowed sin, but caused it Himself. The truth is God forsaw those who would believe, and He foreordained what would happen to those who would receive His grace and be saved. Under extreme, logically following, Calvinism not even Adam or Satan had any free will and were just like pawns♟️♟️ in a chess game with the god of Calvinism playing both sides of the board.

Rabbi I AM thankful to be chosen. Without questioning in a way that is judging God, how can I be elated to have been chosen continuing to have the joy of my salvation while at the same time contain the utter horror and hopelessness I feel for those who have been chosen unto wrath no matter how much I witness or pray for their salvation they are going to hell. I have struggled with this Calvinist conundrum for a long time. What am I missing please! I must be missing something that ties a ribbon on it. Do those not chosen actually go to hell or to a place not quite as close to God…

Perhaps we need to consider and realize that when God chose Isaac over Esau and there seems to be no reason that it is good and right and we can't see it right or understand it because our hearts are darkened from the sin curse at the fall of humanity. Maybe if our hearts were right we could see it right and it would seem to us that it was all good and right when God chose Isaac over Esau. I believe that it was good and right simply because it is God and everything He does is good and right simply because it is Him! I just trust that whatever The Lord does is good and right because it is from Him! I hope this an understanding that He has put in me, part of Him choosing me to be His. I actually hope for these things because if he chose me then I can't mess it up! He will make sure I keep trying and keep on the way to Him. As we are told Jesus will not lose any that are given to Him! I'm a person born into sin so I would mess it up if it was under my control. So I'm very glad and grateful that The Lord is in control! Hope this helps. I love you all!

I am seeing that large numbers of people are wanting and claiming to be "the chosen." My guess is that it is those who feel unworthy and not chosen but still are drawn to our Lord no matter how much suffering, loss, betrayal and isolation one faces. So many seem to associate earthly blessings with being righteous/chosen. I kinda think it may well be quite the opposite. Some of the best people I have ever known suffered terribly and did not seem blessed at all but their hearts shined.

You would not have knowledge of the Lord and the wisdom to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior if you were not of the elect. The Pharisees did not know Him because Jesus did not choose them as they were were not His sheep. Jesus called Peter blessed because knowledge of the Son of Man was given to him by the Lord. So you see, if you accept or have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior you are among the elect as the only way your heart could even be open to that truth was if God chose to open it.

@@tristenweber-nd1sv faith comes by hearing, Romans 10:17 The gospel is the power of God. Romans 1:16, he sends it out and his word does not return void. People come to faith by Romans 10:14-15. The Pharisees did not know him because they did not believe, they chose not to. Otherwise your interpretation assumes that God created some people to believe and be saved and others to be damned and destined for eternal separation from God. This is false, not biblical and calvinism. God is love and his affection is for ALL to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. 1Tim 2:4-6 🙏

Amen! Question, if God knew that he loved Jacob and hated easeaa before they weee born. Doesn’t that mean he knows the decisions each one would make before they ever did it? Which is how he’s able to choose before it even happens? Saying he knew us before we were in our mother’s womb, from my understanding means that he knew what we would doin this lifetime. So the foundations of this world being completed and him know the end from the beginning, from my understanding would mean that he made that choice because it already happened.

Romans 9 12-2712it was said to her, “The older shall serve the younger.” 13As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.” Israel’s Rejection and God’s Justice 14What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? Certainly not! 15For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion.” 16So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy. 17For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” 18Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens. 19You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” 20But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?” 21Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor? 22What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, 24even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles? 25As He says also in Hosea: “I will call them My people, who were not My people, And her beloved, who was not beloved.” 26“And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ There they shall be called sons of the living God.”

Hebrews 4 13And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. James 1 5If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

If calvinism were true then every single jew that was ever born would be saved. Paul says that God has not cast away his people whom He FOREKNEW. Paul says they were cut off because of unbelief. But if they do not continue to abide in unbelief, God will graft them into the vine. Jesus says when He is lifted up he will draw ALL men. But that doesn't mean that all will repent. Pharoah hardened his own heart a few times before God hardened it further. This aligns with what God says about giving people up to their own lusts after a certain point.

@@AB-ComeLordJesus Yes God always has a remnant. However, the command is still to repent and not remain in unbelief in order to be grafted in. The Holy Spirit is not irresistible. That idea idea is cast down in Hebrews and in other places in both OT and NT

When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. 3For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place. 4Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life. 5Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, And gather you from the west; 6I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, And My daughters from the ends of the earth- 7Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”

Isaiah 43 9Let all the nations be gathered together, And let the people be assembled. Who among them can declare this, And show us former things? Let them bring out their witnesses, that they may be justified; Or let them hear and say, “It is truth.” 10“You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. 11I, even I, am the Lord, And besides Me there is no savior. 12I have declared and saved, I have proclaimed, And there was no foreign god among you; Therefore you are My witnesses,” Says the Lord, “that I am God.

It does contradict it. Jesus sacrificed his life for the world. That doesn't mean the whole world will repent. It means God is great, amazing, merciful kind loving and just and we deserve hell. so it means that no matter what some will never be saved because God has hardened their hearts on purpose? So don't worry about those who don't listen to the Gospel it is up to God who comes to him. Some of those you love may not be able to be saved. We just have to accept it. So some may just give up because they don't think they have been chosen. But you are saying we (your audience) are chosen, but you don't know that everyone here has been chosen.

If this is true, that God predestines people for salvation and not others, intentionally excluding some from eternal life, condemning them to a fiery eternity in hell for no reason other than He chose to do so, then that would make God more evil than anything that has ever been and it is completely inconsistent with the very core of the gospel. Which is that Jesus died for the sins of all the world, that whoever calls on Him will be saved, not just "the chosen". I'm out, I can't support (by my YT subscription) this doctrine.
@JeffR777

The reason for the condemning is because of their sinful choices, right? their evil choices and works they go to hell.
@ByTheSpirit84
@ByTheSpirit84 2 ай бұрын
@@JeffR777 The point is, the idea of predestination is only those that God chooses can be saved, and those He does not never have a chance because "they aren't chosen". Thus God creates people just to let them burn in hell forever. At the end of the day, none of us know who is and isn't chosen obviously. But the doctrine or idea to me (and a lot of believers share this opinion) Calvinism and that aspect of it specifically are decidedly anti-Christian.

@@ByTheSpirit84 God's grace is also of his character We are saved by Christ's grace through Christ's faith Ephesians 2:5, 8 GRACE IS: 1. Unmerited, then none can claim it as their inalienable right. They can’t say I have a right to God’s grace 2. If grace is unearned and undeserved, then none are entitled to it. 3. If grace is a gift, then none can demand it. Therefore, as salvation is by grace, the free gift of God, then He bestows it on whom He pleases. Because salvation is by grace.
