Thank you so much. We've been struggling trying to get my wife into a bed that's just a little too tall. This seems to be exactly what she needs - we hadn't thought of this at all!!

This is such an excellent instructional demonstration - my wife has had two knee replacement surgeries -the 2step mechanism (the third in the demo) - is the best -both in function and sturdiness - it is a winner - love this station

Ok, first, if I had ability to turn myself around on an aerobic stepper (what a way to reinvent an outdated item) that lacks a handle or holding bar, I wouldn't need it. And I don't. I bought the Step2Bed step platform recently after knee surgery. I am able to keep my walker near the Step2Bed and grab onto each of the bars so I confidently get into and out of bed. Before buying it, my husband and I were sleeping on a recliner couch that was low enough for me to get on/off while he was near to help remove/put on the cryo-circulation sleeve. And the Step2Bed was not hard to assemble - we got the XL model and there were only a few fasteners used on the platform. We used the hook and loop strips around the wood portion of our bedframe. We removed the magnetic light because you can see it from space...a bit too bright, but we didn't need a light because we have other, less bright, lights nearby.

Is the second one okay to use with a hip replacement?

I purchased a single handle stepstool identical to the one in the video. Made in China. The holes in the bars for the feet do not line up with the holes in the base so the bolts could not be placed. Several people remarked on this flaw in their Amazon reviews but somehow I missed reading them. Piece of junk to be returned and I’ll most likely have to pay return postage for an unusable item.

Thankyou I'm trying to find ways to help someone who has poor upper body strength and arthritis through body and struggles with getting legs in and out, have suggested aids but she says they won't work, her older husband is struggling now and I'm sure there must be more we can try? It's the swivelling her legs round and up on the bed, says it's agony on her hips, any advice would be amazing as she needs the toilet in the night too and it eill save her husband, she can walk to the bathroom slowly amd holding on.

Love your videos! My two cents is the step might be a tripping hazard; getting up in the middle of the night, not paying attention. Have you come across that issue?

I haven’t seen that exact scenario but it’s always important to evaluate the user and their fall risks.

Great video as usual- but would you have any suggestions for older people with balance issues getting in/out of a lower profile bed? Specifically if they have weaker core & leg strength & sometimes struggle raising themselves from a seated position. I.E. bed lower to ground to lower injury risk if they were to fall out. Any suggestions would be great!

My mom is recovering from recent surgery. Would you recommend I purchase two of the one handle step stools and place them next each other? This would double the space of the step area and she would have two handles for support, similar to the two handles step stool you featured here. Thank you.

If she would benefit from the 2 handles and a wider surface I might suggest this product instead: amzn.to/3f7mgbV

I have a client that I have suggested they get rid of the bed frame or get rid of the box spring to help with getting into a tall bed. The person has hemiparesis following CVA and current throws themselves into bed. They asked for an Item like these but I consider it to much of a fall risk, I am a nurse not an OT just wondering your thoughts in this.

Safety will really depend on what the balance, mobility, cognition and environment allows. If the hemiparesis is profound for upper and lower extremities, a step stool might not be a good option.

My mom recent got a adjustable base bed which the mattress is too high. She needs to sit at the side of the bed as part of her therapy. Which type bed stool do you recommend? Thank you

I actually would recommend the aerobic stair stepper. It's wide enough to support both feet for therapeutic edge of bed activities.
