I had the opportunity to spend a whole day with Luke and his entourage as a young reporter. Peter Rabbit was his manager then. I met them at their hotel, and we sat and talked for about 40 minutes or so. His then girlfriend and her mom were there. The first thing he wanted to do was go golfing. I called my friend Tiffany Cochran, yes Cochran as in Johnnie Cochran's daughter, and she helped set up a T time for Uncle Luke. Tiffany was the Anchor of WPDE TV 15 news, so in exchange for her help. I agreed to take Uncle Luke to the TV station for a spot on the 5pm news. I escorted them to all of his media appearances and radio stations. We even went shopping for a video camera because he wanted to record his concert. He must have spent at least $3500 in Best Buy that day. The brother missed out on the sale because he didn't know who Uncle Luke was, and I guess he thought he was too good to wait on him. We were in the store for about 15 minutes, and he never asked if Luke needed any assistance. This white employee came from the back of the store and immediately recognized Luke and was falling all over himself, trying to make sure Luke had everything he needed. Before we knew it, there was a huge crowd that congregated in the store because they heard Luke was there. In spite of the fact that he only had an hour 😮and a half before his concert at the Civic Center Luke had one of his body guards get a stack of pictures out of the car, and he autographed them for everyone in the store. I had a hard time getting him out of there because he loves his fans, and he made sure all of them got an autographed picture. Luke is a class act all the way. He is very respectful and protective. Biggie was Luke's opening act. It was quite a night. I was in the green room with Luke and his crew, so I did not see much of the concert but I will never ever forget what a great guy he is, and the time I got to spend with he and his peeps.
