Hurts my heart to see Klay go out like that. Very very few people understand what it's like to go from the peak of your career, as well as the best team in the nba, to the lowest. You sit for 1-2 years on the bench watching your team lose and hitting the gym. He came back. That is not easy. He deserves to pursue whatever he wants.

@ZIC26
@ZIC26 9 күн бұрын
I would say he’s more hurt and disappointed that he, Klay, and Draymond will not finish off their careers riding off into the sunset together. He’s not mad at Klay for leaving. He knew what was going on behind the scenes. It’s not like he had no idea what was going on with Klay mentally and emotionally with him being relegated to coming off the bench this past season and seeing his performance regress heavily due to his injuries and dealing with the stigma of being labeled an injury risk or damaged goods due to the nature of his injuries. Klay had become disgruntled and unhappy with everything that was happening. Those injuries really altered his career. I can understand the frustration and resentment he likely felt as his career took a downturn. Klay left only because they weren’t gonna give him a max contract so he didn’t feel like he was being valued like he was before. At the same time, I can understand why the Warriors were hesitant to give him another max contract. Why risk committing that much money to a player who they viewed as an injury risk only for him to get hurt again? It’s a shame things had to end this way. They had a great run though.
@nanakmccann
@nanakmccann 9 күн бұрын
@@ZIC26 they couldn’t have given a max contract if they wanted to. Warriors were the most expensive team in history last year and didn’t make the playoffs. They had no cap space. I’m a little bitter at Klay actually. His 40 million last year was a big reason why the Warriors couldn’t fill a roster in 2023 but for some reason he was mad an ownership all year? He got paid max to come off the bench and was so bitter. I get it, he has pride but he also got too used to being overpaid. I wish him the best and feel sad for Steph but I can’t blame ownership.

@ZIC26
@ZIC26 9 күн бұрын
@@nanakmccann Yeah those are a few things I thought of. They got rid of several key players from their championship runs because they didn’t have enough money to go around to keep all those guys happy including Klay. Klay already got a huge payday from the Warriors while in the midst of dealing with injuries that caused him to regress heavily as a player. I believe this was also a factor in the decision not to offer him a max contract while still offering him money but not so much that they couldn’t sign anybody else to retool the team to compete for another championship like you said. I honestly think Klay felt like he deserved it based on his past reputation as a clutch performer in the playoffs and lockdown defender. You can’t keep banking on what you did in the past if the team you’re playing for is focused on what you’re doing now and what you can do for them in the future. Klay’s performance and level of play up until his departure from the Warriors left a lot to be desired. It sucks for them that things ended this way. Regardless, he had a great run and he will likely have his number retired by the Warriors when he finally decides to call it a career and hang up his sneakers.

I think it was a win for both parties, Klay moving to Mavs where he will be utilized more and hopefully win another ring, GSW having that space to get some new talents and create something new. I think the pressure though is with Klay because at the end of the of the day you still have to deliver regardless of the team you play. As for GSW the pressure is to surround Steph with pieces to win and maximize his career

There are faces that are associated in my mind to particular teams. If he can't deliver anymore as a player, he can contribute in other ways. But imagine this. He goes to Dallas and becomes a 20pts+ scorer again. And then wins it all again. Would love to see that...

Reading the room - there appears to be a healthy dislike for Malika. Could be looking into it too much though.

Feels like these guys hold back what they really think and are always trying to be politically correrct. If you're upset just say it, if you're not upset, that's cool. Just say what you think. Can't make everyone happy.

Still can't believe the Warriors, and how they gave the bank to Draymond and not to Klay. Hands down Klay's a better player and person in my opinion. Draymond's problems cost the Warriors in some of their biggest matches throughout his career.

This sucks; Warriors front office should’ve handled this way better. No more 💦 Bros! You can tell Steph and Coach are super disappointed/sad.

Kerr is also to blame last season for benching Klay, devaluating him and making a spectacle out of it. Remember 2023: Warriors don't get to the playoffs without Klay. Poole was a hot mess.
