I feel like the Steph we are witnessing this year is the REAL “prime” Steph Curry. His defense has vastly improved but people tend to overlook it because of his superior offense. You could also argue that he is one of the few guards that you can throw on a Tatum or Lebron and still manage to hold their own. He has also been a lot tougher mentally. The way he dissects defenses has been stellar, and we haven’t seen this version of Steph anywhere. If and when they do win the finals, it would be primarily because of him. Here’s to hoping he wins that FMVP. Dude deserves it.

Feels weird to say this but I think this version of Curry may be his best yet..he has put on some muscle and is utilising it to get to the rim a bit easier and hound ball handlers. This video is really the tip of the iceberg. There is game where he had 2 Clean Blocks. It's quite easy to forget he is now 34 and is nearing retirement in 4-5 yrs time... Steph may not be an elite defender due to size, but his conditioning is solid and he’s a big reason why his help defenders are able to rotate to the right position. It’s one thing when you can’t play defense at all, but it’s another when your defensive scheme is to cover one side of the drive to make sure the help defender can close out and force the kick out. When up against an elite scorer, there’s only so much you can do against them, those guys are more than capable of making plays regardless but it’s another to challenge them on every possession. If they miss a few and their team has less points at the end of the game than your team you win. That’s just basic fundamentals and everyone on the team has different strengths and roles. Steph is already their primary scorer, can’t have him burnt out and sitting for multiple minutes so the other guys need to step up. Anything else is just a poor understanding of how sports work.

I'm a stephen curry fan, but he's not a defensive stopper. But if you see the effort he put in on defense, especially on the 2nd sequence, against the Mavs, he chased the ball from one side to the other, impeded Luka's drive and ultimately blocked Finney-Smith's shot, I don't think he's a liability either. His efforts makes up for his physical limitations. But got to admit, and it popped up first, Steph curry's defensive highlights was the last thing I expected when I searched for his highlights..😁
