Nice test, but in my opinion unfortunately a bit incomplete. Driving on those conditions (cold packed snow) isn't usually that bad. In my experience, when you have thick layers of ice on the road is often worse. Traditional chains are breaking the ice layers quite well, and you can mantain some traction. Therefore, I wonder how the Grip solution would perform on icy roads. I saw they have steel rings, but I wonder if those rings are as effective as traditional chains.

Ma vanno bene anche su gomme all season? Sul sito Michelin dicono che si perde aderenza.

I have a all wheel drive vehicle. just putting them on the front, will the car perform satisfactorily in the snow pack? I know Michelin will recommend all 4 positions, for obvious reasons. But the question is on a all wheel drive Toyota crossover 2021, will the car get to where I'm going on snowpack?

The composite chain, A real advancement in winter driving. The science of today is the best ever. Sad story in the US because they choose to be a mystery without a cause. Good cause's only for public security and Michelin. Happy Year in 2020. Brian K

Could someone who's had experience with easy grip tell me honestly. Will it work on a Bmw M6 and M2? with winter tires of course

I have an M140i rear wheel drive.. would I need easy grip on just the drive wheels or all 4 ?
@MichelinGlobal5 жыл бұрын
Hi Scott, thank you for reaching out. Rear wheel drive vehicles must put snow chains on the rear axle. Ideally, you should put chains on all four tires to obtain the best possible traction and balance.

Is the same effective if you have any winter tyre
@davesmulders39315 жыл бұрын
Haha. Thats a good misconception. I have driven loads of winter tyres, but none will grip up an ice road. Chains will.
@All4Grogg5 жыл бұрын
@@davesmulders3931 Studded winter tires will absolutely grab ice, but metal stubs aren't legal to run in many places and they are obnoxious on clear roads. A good winter tire should perform slightly better than socks/chains on snow, the big advantage of winter tires in that they also allow you to travel above highway speeds.

If you have above average winter tyres on and you dont rally and drive carefully you will be safe. But be extra careful

Why you use a Quattro in these test? To see the traction differents you must use a 2 wheel drive car, a 4 wheel drive car has allways enouth traction.

It would be useful to know that the car on video is a four wheel drive.

Poor dude is sponsored by Michelin which means he has to read a script for this dumb commercial. Just let the dude race. He couldn't care less about snow chains and alternatives. Just get a generic VO guy or gal to read the description over footage of the chains and stuff in action.
