The biggest mistake was Brad Bell not getting a new head writer around the mid-late 2000s when he made the show super plot-driven instead of character-driven, especially given how that was the beginning of the recycled storytelling.

Stephanie came to be Taylor's mother considering Mrs Hamilton died when Taylor was a young girl. There friendship was deep and meant something great. The many hurdles they faced together as friends...from Stephanie disliking Taylor at first and then accepting her and then the many times there was shift in there friendship. Bell Jr pissed all over those two when he made Stephanie die in the arms of the walking trash can.

I agree. I think Brad Bell has forgotten the long history between Stephanie and Taylor. These days both these women are barely mentioned. He brings in characters and then destroys them and doesn’t know what character growth actually means... A Mills and Boon book does a better job at entertainment then Brad Bell!!! I wouldn’t be surprised if the show doesn’t get extended any further than 2021-2022. It seriously has nowhere to go. All the characters I liked have gone. I don’t think Taylor had a choice in walking away from Jack. She was having problems bonding with him and then Nick took her to court to get custody. And Brooke stuck a big fat nose in..From memory I’m pretty sure Nick took her to court and won full custody of Jack. So there wasn’t much she could do and she did seem very traumatised. Hence the other stupid storyline of her bonding with Rick over it-another dumb storyline I hated!

And considering Taylor's past with alcohol, ask Darla what happens when Taylor drives with a little liquor in her, I would be scared too. But Taylor not bonding with the baby said more about Taylor then anything else. So what the donor was the person you hated most in the world. You carried that egg for 6 months. That was your baby. Finding out Brooke was the mom, is no different then when a woman finds out the real daddy is a man she despize. You chalk it up as life and you don't abandon the child.
