I know the Mccarver family and have seen this truck in person. Salt of the earth folks. Good as they come.

Sure brings back memories of when the new style doors came out in December of 71. If that truck was sold new in Jan, 72 it was one of the first ones out with the new doors and paddle latches as was my father's early January ,72 built Kenworth. Beautiful truck, glad to see she was saved.

What a great story and a nice job of bringing it back RIP Mr. Long 👍😎👍

You can’t really fully appreciate the truck until you hear the wonderful stories behind it. Thank you for bringing us both!
@EricCox48482 жыл бұрын
Those that drove it both in real life and fiction. In TV it was Will and Sonny from Movin' On. Smokey and The Bandit. In real life, the average man that loves driving a truck and making a living with it. You can't go down the road without seeing a Kenworth.

Not only hearing close history of the truck we would like to hear that 1693 Cat run. It was one of the most coveted and expensive engines for O/Operators. You were 'cool' if you had that Clatterpillar workhorse back in the day.

Bringing back memories. Had a 73 Michigan special with 1693ta &1259-13 speed. It was absolutely a beast. wish I still had it

Probably the only brand of truck I took a liking to. Peterbilt too. Looks like a good truck.

Fantastic video. The truck looks better now than it did in the pictures. Well done!

They did a outstanding job on the restoration on this truck....not overkill and still looks factory.....brings back so so many memories of me and my dad in the 1970"s and 1980"s driving with him in his trucks....just beautiful paint work on that truck....

Awesome truck and story. So good to see that she's kept it original and old school and not stretched it out like so many do to these old beauties
@russvoight11672 жыл бұрын
I agree, some of these stretch jobs get a bit much. Trucks restored to as built factory condition and specs compliment their historical significance
Nice ! Plenty of “grunt” to do the job, a good tuned 1693 would give any 3408 a run for the money.

Thanks for keeping the original air cleaners on it! The newer chrome ones don't look right. I drove a 80 900 a 48 states, with the coffin sleeper !

I don't know if closed captioning is an added expense on You Tube but I want to say I appreciate your having it. It's a blessing for those of us who have varying degrees of hearing loss. Your work is wonderful, and I am proud to be a new subscriber.

Only thing I would’ve done in addition to the restoration efforts, is clean/paint the engine. The truck looks so beautiful otherwise. Great work
