I'll never forgot when I saw the original stage production at the Majestic Theater in New York, in 1981. This tiny thing of a girl, standing on the darkened stage, as the curtain slowly descending behind her, and she's standing alone in the spotlight!! I'll never forget. As much as I love Ms. Ross, she should have sat this role out, and let Stephanie do the film version, which would certainly have boosted her career far beyond where it is today!!!
