I prime under my eyes with radiant rose Mac prep and prime then I use concealer and then I take a beauty blender and spray Scandinavia setting spray on the beauty blender and press it on the under eye area. This was a technique by Wayne Goss. I find that this technique works. So I quit using powder under my eyes. I am 60 years old and my under eyes are dry too.

I really love the Boots loose powder for under the eyes. I find that all over setting powders are easier to come by, but finding the perfect under eye powder for my over 40 under eyes has been a challenge. I used to use NYC loose which looked great at first, but seemed to dry out my under eyes as the day went on. The Boots no7 looks amazing all day long and also works as an all over setting powder. It brightens, blurs, mattifies and hydrates all at the same time. It seems to melt into my skin, never looks powdery and isn't too expensive! I found it on your channel and have fallen in love with it! Thank you so much!

I use the NO7 under my eyes and the other cover fx one. They do not crease on me either. I stopped using my IT cosmetics bye bye powder under my eyes. I looked horrible, but I love the finish on my face. I agree not all powders work the same

My under eyes are so dry! I've tried many powders without success. I found what sets my concealer without powder. I use Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer & spray Make Up Forever Mist & Fix on a beauty blender & lightly tap it over concealer. It makes my concealer stay put.

I haven't as a general rule used powder to set my under eye area. To be honest, i have completely avoided using concealer under my eyes because of the crinkling and creasing and it just looked so awful. I have just recently started using a super hydrating eye cream that is specifically for the under eye area. I can then use the Shape Tape or maracuja concealer and set with setting spray. I use the tiny Real Technique tiny sponge and once it is damp i spray the sponge and set with it. The second i use any powder, any powder, it goes down hill. awful. But i also don't have any discoloration or puffiness or bags. I just want some brightening. Anyway, i have to set with spray. I am currently using Milani spray, but i have used Urban Decay spray as well.

Im 35 with very very puffed undereye, dark circle, eyebags u name it. Have recently used Estee Lauder new patented eye cream (the most expensive on Sephora) and Tarte marajuca over it. Way too shiny and oily for me which accentuates the puff. Dont know what to do 😭

Isn't it funny how different products are on each person? I have dry undereyes and hate the LM but love the By Terry. For me, I use the Tarte maracuja concealer (teeny amount) and pat off excess, then use teeny bit of the By Terry and it works great. I've tried so many combos and this one seems to work. Thanks for sharing!!

I absolutely in love with the Koty airspun! I forget to grab my others when I am in a hurry. I recently fell back in love with my L’Oréal Hydration powder... so fine and works with a light hand. Baking doesn’t always work for me, think I rush too much. They have stepped up the powder game with a few of the drug store brands.

I have really dark circles and I also have super dry skin, so bad that I even get eczema patches under my eyes. My favorite is actually one of your dislikes, the Hourglass Powder in Dim Light. I just stamp a little bit under my eyes and it makes such a difference. It keeps my concealer set (I live in SC so humidity tends to cause all my makeup to melt off), looks natural, and doesn't emphize my dry/textured under eyes or settle into lines.

Have you tried the Becca under eye balm and under eye brightening setting powder? I recently bought these and they have changed my under eye game. Stephanie Marie Hi Stephanie: :) I just watched your LM/Becca video. Great comparison video! I have never tried the LM product but it is nice to know it is nearly equal to the Becca. I bought the Becca under eye balm and powder at the same time and love the combination. I have had so much trouble getting my concealer to lay down over an area of texture I have on one eye. This balm not only de-puffs the area nicely (I use a dab of it on my upper lids as well) but it helps my concealer go on SO much better and smoother. I’ve tried some other products but none have come close to this. You’ll have to let us know if you liked the Becca under eye balm as well. Have a wonderful day :)

I have the Laura mercier white powered £35 ( usd 50 bucks ) I got baby powder £1 ( 1.50 dollars ) and I tried one under left eye and one under right eye ... left all day and the 2 dollar baby powder was exactly the SAME as the Laura Merciar white powder. I mentioned my talc bargain secret to Laura mercier make up seller lady and she said she used to use 2 dollar baby powder talc too when she was younger . So save your money and just use talcum powder 🤣🙌

First of all, it boggles my mind that anyone would be upset with you for not liking ANY powder. Goodness! Secondly, you've done a great job sharing your experience with this mountain of powders. Thank you for your honesty. I struggle terribly finding any powder that works wonderfully under the eyes. My best bet is a concealer that doesn't need to be set to look good and stay put, and for me that is the Maybelline Fit Me. But I have awful under eye darkness and bags, so I do my very best with corrector and concealers. BTW, the only way I might be able to use powders successfully under my eyes is VERY lightly with a powder puff, not a sponge or brush.

I agree with you about the by Terry powder. I splurged for it and it was so disappointing. I recently purchased the laura mercier under eye brightening powder and it is the best in my book. I have very dry under eyes as well. Others may mouth but tend to darken my under eye area after concealer. I dont see glitter or sparkle at all with the LM.

I am another one who unfortunately can not use any powder underneath my eyes. I have tried your techniques and others but no matter what I do it just looks bad. I find my best results are I use my under eye moisturizer (by Riversol) let that settle in then lightly patting in my under eye concealer (Maybelline instant Age rewind). You are so lucky to be able to use the powders underneath your eyes and look so beautiful❤

I do have wrinkles and I find the powder not drying, non creasing and I feel it brightens me up a bit. I have to say I use a feather brush and apply. I think the powder will last me 10 years there's so much!

I have the EXACT same issues with both the By Terry and the Bare Minerals powders under my eye. Oh and the elf one too. At one time I was really into the tarte Smooth Operator powder under the eye and a similar one from MUFE which I now think has become the Ultra HD Microfinishing powder (which I have not tried) - but then I fell for the Laura Mercier Translucent and have trouble straying. I did find the LM Secret Brightening Powder too sparkly but I still have it so maybe it's time to give it another go. Great video!

Bobbi Brown sheer finish loose powder in medium is beautiful for setting all over. I would continue to buy it but it is $68.00 AUD. I'm 52 with dry skin. The BB has a sort of sheen to it but not noticeable, so it doesn't just finish flat. I think if it is a problem area you need to go high end if you don't want makeup settling into lines and mottelling. I can use any concealer, cheap NYX HD, $10.00 but need a decent setting powder, the powder is key :)

I just have better luck in general with loose powder vs. pressed. I was told a long time ago that pressed powders have fillers in them to make them solid so loose would be better. In my experience, that has been true. Loose powders usually disappear & buff in easily while pressed powders always seem to look, well, powdery & noticeable & obvious. Unfortunately loose powders aren't convenient for travel or touch ups. But many are available in the tiny sample size & those can easily be thrown in a mu bag or purse, so it's not a big deal for me. I love sample sizes for this reason.

The wet n wild powder has a sheen to it?! I've never tried it, but this is surprising to me. Most reviews I've seen on it have never mentioned that aspect, at all. If it does have a sheen to it, that actually makes me WANT to try it for my face, because I have super dry skin and I really love those powders that have a natural sheen to them because it looks better on my skin! 🙂 It still blows my mind to hear you say that you are over 40 because you look SO incredibly young!!!!!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 03:24 - 04:55 Most fave LM secret under eye ✨👍but the normal LM TRANSLUCENT power is not the best to set under eyes, but over all make up is good. 14:33 RCMA is great for general setting makeup but not good for under eyes it LOOKS DRY !

Have you tried the Ben Nye luxury powders? I use the Cameo shade which is a really softly tinted pink. Helps color correct a little and it is one of the few powders that doesn't look dry on my undereye.

I love the Chanel universal powder for high end and Maybelline shine free loose for drugstore, which is surprising because I have dry skin, but it's light and not drying. Neither have that luminous quality, which for me is sparkle that shows to much on tan skin. I do love the Hourglass ambient in radiant light to finish. I also like the Cover fx illuminating powder, which isn't really illuminating, just a nice powder. Unfortunately, it only comes in 2 shades light and medium, which is dark even on me.

I love your channel Stephanie, but darn that Laura Mercier is so expensive, I'm sure it lasts forever, but I'm on a budget and I just can't spend that much on a setting powder. But I love your channel. I love to learn your helpful techniques, I"m turning 51 on Thanksgiving Day and I'm getting back to wearing makeup after taking a break after cancer and things are so different now.

I wish my favorite undereye setting powders were less pricey. But unfortunately, the ones I've been loving lately (and my LM too) are all high end (Charlotte Tilbury, KKW, etc.) It Bye Bye Pores pressed is nice but gives flashback. No 7 is really nice actually! I'm so glad you're doing well! 😘Thank you!

Just because I hate spending money if I don't have to, does the Maybelline Fit Me need to be the pressed powder or can it be the loose powder. I have bv the loose but not the pressed.
@StephanieMarie

Hi! I've done updated powder videos since this video. You can see them under my powders playlist. I like to use the loose as a finishing powder b/c it has a tint to it. I like the pressed in translucent as a setting powder. :)

What do you think of primers to be applied before concealers to prevent them from sticking into the signs of expression making them even worse than natural? I'm undecided between Becca anti fatigue under eye, Smashbox Photofhinish Hidrating under eye, Mac Fast response. Unfortunately, I have no way of testing them. I wouldn't want to throw money and be disappointed. Thank you

Primers just don’t work on my undereyes. They seem to make me more dry which accentuates lines. Plus it’s one extra layer which is no good for that area. :)

It's ironic that you made this video today. I have kept practicing your technique for setting the under eyes/face and you were right! I guess it takes practice and figuring the amount of powder that works for us. Unfortunately I only have the L. M. Translucent. Do I'll have to try another of your higher choices. Thanks as always! God bless 🌸🌸🌸 One question, do you use pressed powder the same way? With damp blender?
@StephanieMarie

I do! I use it in a side area just in case it affects the powder. I've done it with a dry sponge too and it's fine that way also. :)

Great info! I don't know what it is with the undereye you'd think that if it works for the face that it will work for the undereye since it is part of the facial area. That part of my face gets finicky...during hot weather really oily than too cold gets a bit dry..only certain time of climate does it get balance (ussually fall and sometimes spring). I heard good things about the Beautybakerie setting powder?... Maybe you could review????

What shade do you use in the Maybelline fit me powder for setting your under eyes? I know you said earlier in the video translucent powders but during the two faced & fit me you said beige tint Thank you I love your videos you have helped me more than I can ever begin to comment I have dreadful hereditary hollow dark under eyes I want to try the Tarte shape tape and the other one that's thicker that you & many others like as well as the amazing concealer However I'm on a drugstore budget so need to figure out which one to buy Do you think the amazing concealer would be better for me being I don't do full coverage makeup I apologize for getting off subject & rambling again your opinion matters to me Especially since you have same concerns as mature dry under eyes with texture I have tried setting my under eyes roo many times to end up looking like a prune no matter how little I use It's very frustrating

I'd actually look at ELDW Stay in Place concealer, which I discovered AFTER doing my extensive concealer testing video. It's got almost the same coverage level of Tarte Shape Tape but more hydration and is easier to work with as far as blending out and topping with powder than the Amazing. As for the powders, I meant they're called translucent but not stark white...they have a slight beige tint to them. Hope that helps! :)

I’m on the hunt for the perfect powder under my eyes but I like a pink tinted powder. I find it further hides my dark under eye circles. Have you tried pink powders? I also loved the Laura Mercier secret brightening powder until I saw the micro glitters in natural light. :( Wish they had a pink version with no glitter.

I'd advise you to NOT try the new Becca under eye powder if the LM powder doesn't work for you. I don't notice the LM microglitters at all. The Becca showed up in a horrible way...as in I had to remove my under eye makeup and start over! I don't use a pink but it sounds like it brightens in the way an under eye corrector does. :)

Hi Misty! When I was younger I used it am and pm. But I like more treatment-type eye creams at night for anti-aging purposes. If ST is still a struggle, even with those and a facial oil, coconut oil, etc. I HIGHLY suggest ELDW concealer (with the wand applicator). It’s terrific!

Love the video! I know you have kids would you do a video or give some tips! My daughter is 11 and starting to go through "the change" she is starting to get a few break outs. I don't know what to have her use to wash her face that very gentle. Should I have her wash morning and night like I do? Should she use a toner and moisturizer too? I don't wanna overwhelm her since she is still so young but wanna have her start since she is having breakouts. Thanks!!!😉

I'll think about that. Videos for kids can be kind of tricky since adolescence is so individual. And sometimes OTC skincare just doesn't work and the derm route is the way to go b/c of hormones. I'll think on that April! Thanks!

my under eye is not even dry, my skin is oily my under eye area is normal and soft to touch, and I additionally moisturize it before makeup, and yet as soon as any amount of powder touches that area I immediately look like I have 100 times more wrinkles, which are not even visible without powder. I tried all techniques and just made peace with the fact that under eye setting powders are not for me. :(
