I personally see Aaron as my all time favorit book boyfriend, but not because of his personality because I do agree that he is far from perfect, and there are a lot of things I personally think he could do better, but the way he loves Juliette/Ella just speaks to me. Like the way they are literally soulmates/twin flames is my favorit thing in the world. The fact that he kept falling in love with her EVERY SINGLE TIME just makes me want to weep.

I read Shatter me series when I was 16 and it became my favourite series, Warner literally seemed like the imbodiment of perfect guy. But revisiting it four years later... Plot was definitely very YA and a little mid, but the characters were what made me love this series. I also just have an attachment to the series because it was my first series obsession so it will always have a spot in my heart. Also Aaron is one of my fav book Bfs because of how he loves and treats Juliette

Shatter Me is an unforgettable series. The novellas are stunning to look at in terms of cover design. I've seen the last novella displayed at a bookstore I've gone many times before, and as much I'm tempted, I just can't afford it at the time. Seems like you're enjoying the series so far, Steph. We all wonder whose side you're on. Adam or Warner.

So glad you got through the series finally! I wasn't sure about the supernatural stuff, but it became of my favorite series! I read it at the beginning of 2020, finishing after lockdown when the 6th one came out, then read the last novella after it came out. It gives me good memories for that year, and the dystopian element felt oddly closer to reality, but gave me a sense of entertainment in a world where things couldn't be conquered so easily.

I absolutely love the characters (well Warner, Kenji, and Juliette the most, plus James, Nazeera). Warner & Kenji are my faves! While I don't have panic attacks, Warner having some kind of anxiety makes me feel a bit seen. And because I've taken a few psych classes and like that stuff, I feel the series does a bit of showing how trauma & abuse can shape different people. Juliette, Warner, & Adam all grew up with abuse, but all turned different, though could understand the others in some way. Anderson is the worst, partly because he was an abusive father before he was a greedy leader.

I think it’s so cool because I saw an interview of Tahereh Mafi saying that Defy Me was like the happy and exciting, in a way, type of book and then she made Imagine Me be like what if that happiness was taken away and I could soooo see that. I think she portrayed that so well!!

Read the books for the 1st video years ago and honestly I was just as confused and only continuing for the romance and answers. One of which which never got. I later found out that there were more books but by then I could NOT care enough to read. Nice to finally get the rest of the story and some answers through your video. Please read the Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken series! I really think you'll love it, it's kind of the same genre as Shatter Me and super underrated. Thank you for this amazing video! My opinion: I actually couldn't get through the last few books. I felt as though she kept not adding parts that weren't necessarily needed for the sake of adding more books. I kinda wished she kept it at 4-5 books.
