You could literally explain the entire plot of the story and a couple of sentences, they wrote Juliet so terribly, and she’s literally everything I hate. 😭 I read the whole book and it was absolutely trash solid one star .

I hate the fact that it’s so overhyped and then there are so many better books out there that deserve the hype. Like it gets worse too. It’s almost like she has two personalities? Like she’s sweet and doesn’t want to hurt a nyone then she’s like Kenji and jokes around all the time and THEN she’s like this powerful girl who wants to ruin the world and stuff. It’s really weird. Solid 2 stars. Do not recommend

This book reads to me like when I was in high school and had a crush on someone I would imagine all these scenarios before falling asleep where crazy things would happen and my crush’s sole existence was to fall in love with me 😂😅 so although I have definitely outgrown that phase, I could see how there could be a target audience for this

It’s strange cuz I just read Tahereh Mafi’s new series and it’s largely the same when it comes to world building if not WORSE…nothing happens and we know nothing about anything and it’s all just centered around a basic chosen one trope. Only saving grace is the characters are SORT OF fun

I listened to the audiobook, which was my mistake as well. The narrator gave the main character a very whiny voice. Some aspects of the book were good, but I doubt I'll be continuing onto the second book.

I read this book last year and it felt like a self insert fantasy that was dreamed up in middle school. However, that's not bad, if you take that idea and refine it as an adult. That said, I just put myself on the waiting list for book two and there's like 30 people ahead of me. There's just enough here that I'm willing to give book two a shot.

Shatter me is such an interesting book imo. I totally agree that the book is so bad. I genuinely hated how Juliette was so whiny, she seriously annoyed me. So I can't recommend the book but I do recommend the series. Even just to Ignite Me. By the end of Ignite Me I actually enjoy her as a character. It is not like a 5 star series but it does get good and entertaining.

Okay hear me out, for a DBBC omega verse book you could do Bro and the Beast by LC Davis and Joel Abernathy. It’s omegaverse satire. A frat bro gets pulled into his twin’s favorite omegaverse romance novel and finds that he’s replaced the female lead in the book. It’s a series of connected novellas, so they are pretty quick reads and very silly.

I think you guys should read one of the JD Robb books. The first one, Naked in Death, isn't the best but it does set up the characters. As the series evolves, I find the mysteries to be pretty solid with a great found-family quality to the recurring cast of characters.

It got to the point that when the 3rd book came out I didnt buy it and gave the other 2 away because the way she talked and even her behaivor towards the author totally put me off the series. I literally agree with every single point made in this videobook was so mid like I don’t understand y it blew up in the first place!!!(halfway through it I was thinking what is this…this sucks but I have it the benefit of the doubt and finish it 🤡) First the writing is annoying like I get the girls supposed to be unhinged but her metaphors suck they don’t deliver they’re just cringy and her thoughts gets repetitive…literally. And the main character is rly annoying like okay I get it ur skinny and small and weigh like a feather u don’t have to repeat it every 5 pages it rly doesn’t play that big of a role!!! And also she spends the entire book with self pity just feeling bad for herself and talking bad upon herself and it’s like damn alr we get it u hate urself don’t u ever get tired of complaining and want to see it a different way!! And then the romances are so bad in my opinion she doesn’t have chemistry w anyone she didn’t have it w Warner or Adam they just happen to know of each others existence from school but they never talked or hung out or nun they just saw each other and all the sudden they were in love and had loved each other since like huhhhh like where’s the build up let me understand y they fell in love at least smh. And the spice was even worse cuz it was so uncalled for, it was so random and out of nowhere like plz if ur gonna add it make the characters at least have chemistry cuz other wise it just feels forced tbh the whole romance plots felt forced u can’t convince me that she loved either and they don’t love her either they’re just hot for her and she’s hot for it too that’s y she hooked up w both of them. The other characters are alr also pretty mid so one dimensional. The world building was boring and the fight scenes or climaxes were bland. Also towards the end it felt like they literally copied the end scene from the hunger games and the beginning of mockingjay part one and just rephrased it idk maybe it’s just me. It was just so mid and disappointing, I’m never taking another booktok recommendation ever again. 🤡
