It's not that they didn't believe in Hebert . The Chargers knew they needed to win a Superbowl or at least get there to be on the same level as the Lakers, Rams, Kings, Clippers, and Dodgers ! LA is a town with so many rich people that likes to spend money to have fun and if your brand is not a great brand they will not buy regular season tickets, high price field level season tickets or pay for luxury suites if they already know the team is mediocre !

@@CaptanF0rever the Clippers have been having success since the Lob City Era started and they have been maintaining. The Dodgers have been in the Playoffs many years but just couldn't seal the deal until last season but always been a great team. As far as the Rams they started in LA back in the day so they always had a fan base there . The Chargers fan base is in San Diego and they are trying get a new one but it's tough to do that in a market that has dedicated fan bases already

@@antonio706ga you said the Chargers needed a Super Bowl to get fans. I was saying why they didn't. The Chargers made the right choice. They got a young and talented QB who can carry them for a decade as they build and get better. Football is not baseball or basketball. A successful team needs to be built from the ground up, not bought in free agency. The Bucs built a strong defense and drafted quality playmakers to make themselves a worthy free agency destinations. The Chargers seem to be trying to do the same thing. I like them, and wish them well in the future. I just hope they focus more on long term success than doing it like Dallas and getting into a desperate "win right now" mentality. Win 10 games, Win 12 games, make it to the AFC Championship game, etc. These are possible within the next 5 years. They have Mahomes, Allen, Lamar and Baker to deal with in the AFC. The Titans are more of a "Win right now" team, and the old guard (Steelers, Patriots, Colts) are rebuilding. Sorry for the book, this is an interesting topic though.
