That was the second time he benched a key player. The 1st time was in the playoff against the JETS. Welker made fun of Rex Ryan's foot fetish in an interview the week before the game. And he was benched in the beginning of the game. That ruined the timing and chemistry of the whole offense and they ended up losing that playoff game. It's amazing how he did not learn his lesson by benching Butler in the SB. He always preached about doing everything to give the team the best chance of winning, yet he did the opposite. If that's not the definition of a bad H.C, then I don't know what is.

Had Brady retired in New England there would remain a massive number of people that believe the dynastic success was 50-50 Brady-Belicheck. The QB is the most impactful position in ALL of sports & its not even close. Maybe the pitcher in baseball is a close 2nd, but they don't pitch every game.
