Couple things: 1) this was not the first time those officers broke the law - you don't act that way on the first try, 2) those five cops are career criminals with badges. If five ordinary citizens did this, it would be horrific but the police take an oath to protect and serve so this is even more troubling. And I don't have the stomach to watch that video. May God bless his family and may his soul rest in peace.

Police can be assholes at times. But people need t ppl respect the law and obey. If you resist a police officer, that's your own fault like Nicholas if he did. Seems no one has learned their lesson even yourself. Obviously the police handled it badly. But what can you do when people resist, like George Floyd or even Keenan Anderson. Most of these incidents happen ppl en when people resist. Now racism has been thrown out of the window. So you can't blame color. As most leftwing says it's race even this panel for so long.

I watched George Floyd I watched Rodney king, and others as well. Nothing prepared me for this one. It was like watching somebody get jumped and tortured in a back alley. The fact that five of them all actively participated in beating this man, and not one at any point, tried to be a voice of reason, is inhumane. What these “officers” did, was barbaric

Great point by SA. People join the force for job security, benefits, etc. once you’re a cop you’re not only black, white, brown…. You’re blue too. I have to speak honestly to this . I’ve lived in Memphis all of my life. I’ve seen a lot, especially in the black community. We are fearful when we encounter many of the black police officers here. There is no comfort. So many of them behave as thugs with badges. I was not surprised at all when informed they were black. This fear seems unfair to other officers in Memphis that really take pride in serving and protecting the community. Tyre’s life should not have ended this way. Im a mother with a 25 year old son in Memphis. He goes to work daily, listen to country music and read books. He doesn’t have a cruel bone in his body. A mamas boy. I fear for him all the time. Tyre reminded me so much of my own son. No family should have to go through what Tyres family is going through right now. We should feel safe in our own city but we don’t.

It is possible it got worse because of the "Defund The Police" movement. Maybe good people no longer want to join the police, and police departments have to accept what is left, regardless of the fact that some of the people that they are left with, should never be police officers. The Memphis police department is quite shorthanded, and needs an additional 500 officers. All of that said, the officers are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, therefore, we may not know the whole story here.

Especially as an adult Black person, it is always highly important that you/we pick and choose based on the overall personality or character of an individual as well as their race (coming from a similar [understanding] background) within your selection process; thus, as any mature minded Black person knows, from a genetic standpoint evil hangs out - lurks amongst all shades of skin color, amongst all various hair textures as well as within both genders

It seems as if the medical field embraces the police before their own duty, they did that in the George Foreman case as well. I know a person was hurt in a police chase and the doctors at the hospital treated him bad placing their fingers in the holds in his leg to cause more pain so in a criminal situation the medical people side with police. That's something else that's needs to be address as well, across the board their non- professional attitude in a criminal situation.🤔✅

His life was sacrificed but making it to that camera is going to punish these fools and spark change that will save lives. Disbanding that unit and getting rid of the five is just the beginning I hope.
