NOT EVERYONE PLAYS THIS WAY, and the reason you're ignorant to that is ALSO the NBA's fault. The Rockets and Grizzlies showed last night that you can be successful in this league through a combo of old school ball-movement and new age 3-point shooting. Both teams have had a hard time getting on National TV cuz the league is obsessed with featuring the old heads and largest markets. If they want viewership to go up rest of the season, flex those teams into more National TV games. I only see the Rockets on anything other than NBA TV like once the rest of the year, which is a TRAVESTY.

@Given how the 3pts are being so popular in today game, ANY decent NBA player can play in the contest, not just the top shooters. You wont be able to tell if a guy shoot 40% or 36% from 3s during this contest. Its about getting star players to join, just like the Slam Dunk contest. In that sense, having CC join would elevate the storyline because of her stardom.
@isthison28756 күн бұрын
Here's my two cent take on the NBA All-Star game. I'm nearly absolutely sure that some of the players chosen to be all stars are there because of their defensive skills. The only thing more dramatic than a beautiful pass and slam dunk to follow is a defender keeping it from happening. Seeing somebody go up for a dunk and having a defender end up with a jump ball is way better than dunks that you see every single game. Just play a game of horse and be done with it.

I had the chance to watch the NBA ASG a couple of years ago, tipoff to finish, when DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine played. It was a great pleasure to watch! With any sport, I simply don’t look to an ASG for competition. I want entertainment. I want to see superstars on the same floor or in the same field. I want to see them showcasing their skills in super-fun contests. To me, the NBA ASG is perfectly fine! As for Caitlin, I love what Chiney said: she doesn’t just move the needle, she is the NEEDLE 👉🏻💪🏻🙌🏻
@tigera67 күн бұрын
The only skill that you see in NBA ASG these days are the 3pt shooting and open dunk, nothing else. If thats enough entertainment for you, then keep watching them, most of us wont.
@ronvillejo75967 күн бұрын
@ That’s fine, of course. The game itself was entertaining, because the stars across the league were on the floor.
@tigera67 күн бұрын
@@ronvillejo7596 Most of us want them on the floor AND compete, not taking open shot and wide open dunk. If thats how its gonna be, cancel the game and replace it with more skill challenge, or make it an 6-minute quarter game and stop wasting our time.
@ronvillejo75967 күн бұрын
@ The NBA has to decide what to do. But as long as they play, we will all have the choice to watch it or not watch it. The real competition is in the regular and post seasons. The ASG is like dessert that I love 🤗

What are you talking about? You'll NEVER see their amazing ball handling and finishes if there's no defense. And guys like Kawhi Gobert and Draymond were invited because of defense! What are they supposed to do? What a joke

Caitlin was supposed to sub in for Arike but allowed Arike to take some of her playing time in the WNBA All Star Game instead - because Arike was having a great shooting game (which helped Arike to break the All Star Game Record for points). Caitlin had already broken the rookie record for assists in an All Star Game (even though she could've played to break Sue Bird's ASG assist record - Caitlin only needed 2 assists to do so) at that point, and chose to support Arike in breaking a record too. She and Arike have mutual respect for one another, and Caitlin constantly looks to support her teammates.

I didnt find it to be feminist, it was objective. Obviously the men are infinitely better, but the product is bad right now. Especially all star weekend. And to be fair, its not like the WNBA's product is high quality unless it involves 22, but I really respect the ladies because they care. There are real rivalries, every game matters, I respect it. NBA better be careful or Fever games are going to outdraw the NBA and while I love the NBA, they got bigger problems than just that and they better fix it
