Thing is, it’s minus Hill now. So the offense isn’t going to look the same. Mahomes has played high level great every single year he has started. To say this may be his worse season yet could possibly still put him top5 among QBs. Thats just how all time great he is. But that slight drop off because of no Hill is going to hurt the team as a whole. Everybody is just looking at Mahomes and saying they’ll be great because of him and coaching. Also, other teams have gotten way more better than the Chiefs, specifically on defense. It’s kinda the same thing sports media did when the chiefs played the Bucs in the SB. Before the game, most had the chiefs winning because they felt Mahomes was the difference maker. Then after the game, all you heard was excuses of Chiefs offensive line. they all knew that OL was suspect before the game. Just like now. Refusing to look at the chiefs weaknesses thinking that Mahomes can cover for all that. Who can really? Mahomes been doing great given what he’s delt.

I don't know about the superbowl but playoffs definitely we all know the chiefs are a potent team they still have arguably the best quarterback and tight end and definitely the best player caller in Andy Reid but it's going to be a challenge for the chiefs in their own division and let's not forget the bills and bengals also this is why I love this sport more than basketball real talk

@@droneviewphotodvp7614 Bolton played well last year as a rookie. With Hitch gone he’s going to play the majority of snaps at MLB (his best position). Hitch was moving in sand at that position last year. This is a major upgrade in the middle of the defense. Drafted McDuffy, GK, and a few other CB’s. You might say that you can’t count on rookies in the pass rush. However, the pass rush was none existent last year. Adding a high motor guy can only help to hopefully get more pressures (still won’t be perfect). You may also say that about youth in the secondary. However, they drafted guys that have taken spots from guys that played snaps last year. They felt so comfortable with these young guys they elected to cut one of those guys early in camp. Plus they still have guys like Snead and Fenton that are young above average CB’s with experience that are going to start. Reid might not be the best safety in the league, but go back to last years team and watch 49 and tell me if you think he’s an upgrade. Believe me the answer is yes. They also brought in Dunlap. His best years maybe behind him, but he can be a nice rotational piece in the pass rush. And based on his numbers last year it looks like he still has a little juice. Replacing old guys that couldn’t physically hold up to the speed of the game with young hungry players might not turn them I to a top 10 defense, but it gives them the ability to make more plays on defense. One extra stop a game or a few more turnovers is huge when 15 is getting the ball on the other side. They don’t need to be top 10 but if they’re just average Mahomes can work with that.

As impossible as even I thought it was, we upgraded from Mathieu w Justin Reed. . . 2 of our CB's are top 10 in the league at fundamentals like QBR and tackling, they just don't get all the picks/highlight plays that others do (which isn't important if they're that good at pass break ups, man coverage and open field tackling.) This LB core is dirty now that Gay is healthy next to Bolton and Chanel. Thornhill finally healthy, calling audibles for one of the smartest secondaries in the league alongside Reed. Karloftis is already playing well enough to take attention from C. Jones. . . Mfs always talk about our defense so we picked up EVERY heavy hitter in the draft just to punch em in the mouth next time!

Here's something interesting. Tom Brady could play bad but his defense wins him games. A lot of times when Patrick doesn't play well the Chiefs lose but the games against the giants and packers were definitely impressive. The Washington and Tennessee games were fun to watch cause the defense held them scoreless in the 2nd half both games even if the Titans game was very one-sided

This whole thing sounds familiar. The last 20 years when a team from New England some how managed to find themselves in the playoffs every year and quietly went to 10 Super Bowls. This Chiefs team has been in 4 consecutive Championship games and 2 SB and keep finding ways to keep being competitive. Extactly I have said this all offseason. The Chiefs have the most experienced coaching staff, offensive coordinator. Tight end, best offensive line, and quarterback. Plus a younger and more physical and athletic defense. The rest of these teams have very inexperienced coaches still.

Well this aged well for Bart Scott, he hates on KC constantly and gets exposed as a psuedo expert. At the end of the season and before the SB, the chiefs defense actually improved, offense was top, Mahomes threw for over 5k, Kelce reached more pinnacles, and Mahomes won another MVP and he didn't have the cheetah and lost Hardman for a third of the season. Bart Scott should be doing sideline reporting... in college ball

Bruh the Chiefs went from 2 main targets to 6: JuJu, MVS, Kelce, Fortson, Moore, and Hardman. Not to mention Pacheco and McKinnon can both catch out the back field and burn you. The Defense has improved at every level, they won't be top 10 but they will be much faster and more potent this year
