@Jordanne Shirley Certain people aren't aware how it works with the media and when it comes to players. You have to think of these guys as assets/brands/companies, which people have invested a lot of time and money into, you can't just supplant a brand like LeBron overnight, and a lot of different tactics are used. Obviously what you do on the court is what matters and is what can make or break your brand, but in terms of the message that's put out, public perception, how that leaks into voting for certain awards, how FA or trade decisions are viewed, all of that is like a separate war game altogether.

@@brendanbloom3366 Stats are a huge part but here goes: Curry is the GOAT shooter and it's not even close anymore, stretches the defense more than anyone in NBA history, great passer, can plug him in any system and he will flourish because he's elite off-ball movement, not ball dominant yet scored 25-30 easy, maybe the greatest scoring PG ever and a great leader that accepted KD. Giannis has been an annual candidate for a scoring and rebounds title, MVP and DPOY for the last couple of seasons and many more in the future, great passer, and versatile defender.

Steph made three point shooting a mandatory skill to have in today's nba. The only thing haters attack about him is that he has no fmvp.
@foxology30873 жыл бұрын
@@brendanbloom3366 Its almost like if you ignore resumes and stats that all objectivity goes out the window. Its indisputable that Giannis and Steph are both 2 time MVPs or averaged 29, but what isn't is how effective their playstyle ls are without stats and accolades to back up the argument. Once you remove all objectivity from an argument, no points can be proven definitively , and it devolves into a gladiator match of opinions where no one changes their mind, and everyone leaves more angry than they started. To me, you seem to be less looking to actually learn about other's arguments concerning Steph and Giannis's alltime placement, but are instead looking for material you can easily invalidate with your own opinions, as you banned your opponents from entering any points of objective agreement to progress the discussion. The fact is that stats and accolades matter, whether your argument wants them to or not. How do we know that Steph Curry is the greatest shooter of all time? Because of his repeated years of elite three-point percentage on high-volume, which led to championships, both of which are based on stats and accolades. Stats and accolades, prove the efficacy of players' games, not the other way around. I don't have a problem with you not thinking Steph or Giannis are top 20, but am a bit concerned with your willingness ignore sources of objectivity because they nuhave the potential to invalidate portions of your argument. If I misinterpreting something here, I'd like to know the real reason why stats and accolades are so apparently unimportant to your all-time list. Good day, A fellow NBA fan
