Jalen Brunson is practically Tom Thibodeau created player , Think about it Rick Brunson played for Van Gundy while Thibs was the assistant coach. Thins eventually became head coach in Chicago 2010 and hires Rick Brunson as his assistant. Brunson was 14years old and learned to play ball in a Rick/Thibs system and has won a championship on every level so far… y’all watch out for the Knicks cause now Thibs got a PG he practically seen grow up and all his type of players, hold teams to under 100 is wild in this era .

Stephen A is NOT wrong. Thibbs' history shows that he has a bad tendency (Keyword: tendency) to overplay his starters & run them into the ground... until they get badly injured. That's why he has never gotten past the 2nd round of the Playoffs as a coach (except once). Thibbs did it in Chicago and ran Derrick Rose, Luol Deng & Kirk Hinrich into the ground, until injury. And he also did it in Minnesota after that, when he ran Jeff Teague & Zach Lavine into the ground, until injury. And if you haven't noticed, Thibbs has constantly been playing either Jalen Brunson or Julius Randle with the 2nd unit most of the time, instead of giving them more rest on the bench. This strategy would not be a problem if Thibbs played MORE guys off his bench, like Steve Kerr does. However, Thibbs only plays about 9 or 10 guys during the regular season... and when the playoffs come around, he will reduce that down to playing just 7 or maybe 8 guys max, while all of the Knicks' opponents will be playing 10-12 man rotations, to try to outlast them. That's not hate. That's just facts. Based on Thibb's coaching history & his stubborn substitution tendencies. Hopefully this year Thibbs has learned from his past & he won't repeat these same mistakes & will learn to trust his bench a bit more & give them more playing time... in order to rest the starters, when the playoffs come around.

I thank everybody but SAS putting up for Brunson. Not only is he a star and consistently carries this team game in and game out, but he shows up *IN THE PLAYOFFS* time and again! He's solidified himself as an absolute DAWG and even tho you might give Haliburton a slight nod in the regular season he has not produced the way Brunson has consistently in the playoffs on two diff teams now. There's a reason Brunson finished #2 in the media voting only behind Haliburton, cause that dude is the only guard in the east who's better than Brunson. He's THAT good. If he plays like he usually has in the playoffs, as well as Julius Randle being healthy and fixing his playoff woes, the Knicks are going to go far.

Last time we went out and got a star, they traded the whole future away. Melo had nothing but an aging Stoudemire after the first two years, and they only won a single playoff series. I'd like Donovan or Mikal eventually, but this is a front office who's not going to be attracted by big names and forego chemistry like the Lakers

Bench? The Knicks have the 4th ranked bench in the NBA with an impressive +327. Look it up. Only the Pelicans, Thunder and Warriors are higher. Fact. When they play, they are playing quite well. Hart, Grimes, McBride, Precious, etc. aren't shabby at all. I would make Mitchell Robinson come off the bench if he returns and keep iHart starting. With the easier schedule, the Knicks will be getting bigger leads and will be playing the bench more often. McBride and Precious are underrated. If Grimes plays like he is capable of, the bench will look really good. We know Hart's strength. The Jazz have the 2nd highest scoring bench but they are -21. The bench plays offense and DEFENSE. Don't just look at points scored. Knicks will use the bench more as the schedule is getting easier.

I know I’m not the only one who said this, but New Yorkers are busy so a lot of us forgot to vote or didn’t have the time. When I heard the time I put in my Jalen, Brunson and Donovan Mitchell back court vote for the All-Star game these are casuals that voted they didn’t know who Tyrese Halliburton was until the in season tournament. And Damian Lillard I knew he would be a starter because he’s never started in the All-Star game before and plus he has the superstar recognition. But Bronson has outplayed all these eastern conference point guards. And also no Knicks fan believes Stephen A is a real Knicks fan. What’s up with somebody of these media analyst hating on Jalen Brunson or heading on the Knicks entirely?

You can only make that comparison if both team rosters had remained exactly the same over the past 10-12 years. However, both the Bulls & the Knicks have acquired new players, new starting 5s & new front office management during the last decade. So Thibbs' coaching ALONE is not the only difference between past & present success for either team.
