Mr. Whitlock is/was 100% correct. He (Deon Sanders) is pumping up his son's stats at the expense of the team. Going for it on fourth down up by 29 or throwing when you should be chewing up the clock is a head coach problem in addition to the other behaviors. Mr. Kim is NOT fearless.

In a way, coaching is like parenting. The quality of the parenting is revealed in the child's behavior. It's not revealed in what the parents say about their parenting. He has two sons but has brought his ENTIRE staff, some of the players from JSU, lost a coach to the NFL before he even started coaching fully at CU, helped recruiting for other teams at CU, raised the enrollment at CU, and generated MILLIONS for the community! I guess that's how you make it all about you😂!

Jason nailed this one. The shine on Deion’s transformation on Colorado has dimmed, understandably if someone looks objectively. Steve is right with the comment that this is who Deion is…his narcissism is comparable to Donald Trump. “Prime” has been a highly profitable marketing hook Deion created. Deion Sanders, whoever he was, no longer exists. The price of fame can be heavy and at a point becomes hard to watch…Madonna is a great example as is Brittany Spears. The idea that we refer to Deion as Coach Prime shows we’re watching reality TV. The problem is the minions don’t realize this is a faux reality. When I was young I’d laugh at the Jerry Springer and Howard Stern shows. I took them to be modern Three Stooges humor. Unfortunately, I started to realize some bought into this as reality. The dumbing of America is tough to watch!

Jason's criticism is right on the money. The criticism is a natural byproduct of the persona Deion has created for himself. It's not a bug in his programming. It's a feature. Deion is not a coach. He's a brilliant self-promoter who is capitalizing on the portal and payment rules adopted by the NCAA. While his approach is producing short term gold, the riches are not sustainable. Why? His approach is not one that facilitates the sort of discipline and cohesion that great teams require. He will fail if he does not change. And when he does fail, his worshipers will make it about race. And Deion will say "yup, black man bla bla bla".

For curious reasons, Sanders has been bestowed the title as a great coach when evaluated subjectively he can only be considered a great hypeman. He is 4-3 at Colorado, 1-3 in the confererence and currently 9th place. At JSU he recruited superior talent and won the SWAC but when faced with superior coached lesser talent MEAC teams succumbed in both Celebration Bowl Championship games. Great Coaches take lesser talent to next level and win championships, great coaches never listen to the outside noise, great coaches never blame the team as it is merely a reflection of the coaching that goes into it. Confucious said it best.....A Nobel Person Blames Himself An Insignificant Person Blames Others!

You're right Jason ,Deion created that clown show, there are too many distractions and I think Deion is disrespecting the game with all the antics. Idk, I'm here for the Deion slander 😂 but I'm also a Husker fan, comes with the territory of him being the Colorado coach. Plus all the nonsense they were saying about our coach and our team about "disrespect". Deion has absolutely earned every bit of criticism he receives. He's the one that has to run his mouth at every opportunity, it's only fair that he gets an equal amount of criticism.

The difference is Whitlock dissects Deion and gives others a pass. Sure, he makes good points, but give the others the same energy. It's hard for Whitlock to resist since the Buffs are getting everyone's attention.

He has an act and a character he plays called “Prime”, like he’s some sort of actor. What he’s finding out in big boy football is it’s more about substance than style. He needs to learn you have to recruit not just talent, but WINNERS. Talent does not always = winner, especially when everyone is talented. Deion got away with out-talenting inferior teams in FCS, but that crap ends in big 5 play. Stanford is talented, and one of the worst teams in the Pac12. They have multiple NFL prospects. The gap between them and Washington in raw talent is only slight at this level. What determines the difference in 9-3 and 3-9 is who executes.
