@@nunocolonPuff had nothing to do with Big's murder. Suge had Big killed. I lived in LA during this time. Anyone & everyone that lived in LA knew that Bad Boy or any affiliation was in danger in LA. Especially Puff & Big. Suge wanted both of them killed. Listen to what Gene said, "DJ Quik, said one of the ni@@as from Bad Boys got shot like they said they would." DJ Quik wasn't friendly with anyone from the East Coast let alone Bad Boy. Anyone with sense knows Puff had zero to do with Bigs death. Now Pac, now that's a possibility. People today think that they can figure things out bc we are in the information age. People talk about the past & say anything to make a dollar off of Pac & Big. Especially Pac. Big had the Dogg Pound shot at just by saying something over the radio on Hot 97 by Dudes from Redhook. I'm from Redhook. My point is, people make things up when they have no clue what they are talking about. Puff was greedy. He was willing to take a chance in LA when LA was extremely dangerous. Notice lil cease wasn't concerned, Big wasn't concerned, Puff wasn't concerned, that was the NYC attitude back then. That very attitude, thinking you are invincible will get you killed & thats what happened. Did anyone even notice that Gene mentioned Big Jake was killed by Wolf? Everyone just wants to blame Puff bc that's the whole conspiracy theory nonsense world that we live in now. Puff wasn't even that big enough to pull something like that off. Listen to Puff in the 911 call. He was panicking. He didn't sound like someone that would have done that. I've seen Puff at a small club in Manhattan about 2 months after Big was shot. He genuinely looked depressed. He was completely drained & out of it. Anyway, I digress. Enough with the conspiracy theories. I say what Chris Rock so eloquently said, "Big & Pac wasn't assassinated." "Martin Luther King, Malcom X & JFK got assassinated." "Pac & Big, them 2 ni@@as got shot!"

Same here. Gene has been telling the story since March 9, 1997, and he’s told it so many times but it’s pretty rare that he’ll get emotional, but I’ve seen it a few times, this interview included. I can only imagine how he feels, knowing that that day he was warned by so many credible people and sadly diddy, Big, Cease and the rest of the crew didn’t take him and the threats seriously. Gene even called Kirk Burrows and asked about getting more security because they were moving around more than diddy initially told him they would and how hostile the environment was in Cali given it being so soon after Tupac’s death but diddy refused to pay for more security. Gene and Big may not have known each other that well, but Gene knew how talented he was and how successful he would be and feels, for a lack of a better term, a form of guilt, feeling like he could’ve done more even though he wasn’t one of Big’s bodyguards. Big’s bodyguards were in the suv behind Big’s when he got shot-but Gene was the only one that did the bodyguarding job that night. 🤷♀️

When someone has genuinely been through something this intense, it’s not a “story”, it’s a memory. You are reliving those moments. That’s why he gets emotional and it’s also that’s why you see him look at something that isn’t there. Personally, I told my therapist that I don’t see things, rather it’s more like the images are burned into my eyes and I see them all the time to some degree. Stories change, memories don’t.

There was an ambulance, cops, AND the fire dept already there and he didnt "think" to go over there and signal for help? What?? 🤨 There was chaos at the scene and they didnt know? 🤨 They didnt hear anything? No one else ran over to alert them? 🤨 Then they rode around and let Biggie bleed out for 30 mins until they finally decided to show up at the hospital. Why didnt they stop and ask someone where it was? They should have known the area if they were out there for months right? 😢 So sad for Biggie.

It’s amazing because I’ve heard Gene speak on this A MILLION times. I grew up in that era so I’m extremely interested in the story. BUT, to have PBD interview him is a whole different experience. It’s really good.
@staceykester29146 ай бұрын
This is the BEST interview w/ gene I've watched yet. I was 13, and to this very day can remember what I was wearing, doing, watching when the sound of the news breaking in to report the deaths of Biggie, Tupac and Kurt Cobain. This is a story I've been interested in from day one. Gene doesn't play, if you have a chance to interview him, be prepared. You better do your homework or he will embarass you, I've seen him do it. Real lyfe had a chance to sit down with him and I had to turn it off bc I felt so bad for that kid. This interview is probably the best matched, the man conducting this interview was quick, asking details, he knew how to shut up, just let Gene speak and he knew coming in the foundation of what was talked about. And there's things I've heard in this video that I haven't heard from Gene before. I ordered his books, I can't wait to get the chance to sit down with them.

And for dude to drive 30 minutes away to a hospital compared to a hospital 2 blocks away sounds like a set up. BIG GENE tried to save Biggie's life.
