I don't get it. Is it really fair to say Ali's better because he fought better competition? How is that Floyd's fault? Dude is in a whole nother era dominating top ranked boxers. If you take Floyd out this era, there wouldn't be any other undefeated boxer. Yet he's undefeated. He deserves the right to say he's the best ever (although I don't agree) because he did everything he possibly could.

no It not even about boxing why Ali the greatest, are u not paying attention, it's the circumstance Ali was out is what made him great.

dragon balls exactly, because of that ali will forever be the greatest, and no floyd was not in a situation such as ali, So in the end no matter what floyd does or howmany opponents he beats he will never be th greatest ever. The sad part floyd IGNORANt ass actually thinks hes experience racism on the same level as ali, and that is hwere all my respect of him as a not a fighter but a man goes out the window.

Floyd ducked great fights. Khan. Ggg. Pac for a few years. And when they finally fought, it was a competetive fight with a former flyweight. Mayweather is in it for the money, not the greatness

The problem is Floyd wants the people to live and appreciate him he is not a likeable guy or his public persona is not. You can't have it both ways. People hated Mike Tyson as well but love him now because he has changed. If Floyd was like Moseley, best believe they support him 100.

Seriously, i am a Pac fan, but either way, i dont know why he is complaining, if you want to classed as TBE you have to fight the best, and in there is era there have not been too many greats in his weight class, but Manny is one of them, and one people want to see. Is it really too much to ask that before someone declares themselves as the best, that they first fight the best, how can the number 1 and number 2 pfp fighters of this era, be in the same weight class and not fight? I dont think he thinks he will lose, but he thinks he may lose, and thats not a risk he wanted to take.
@jrcuartz1829
@jrcuartz1829 4 жыл бұрын
exactly. if you consider yourself TBE you have a responsibility to fight the other guy people believe as better or equal than you. floyd had that responsibility to fight manny pacquiao. he is pissed with that because he wants a legacy build on easy wins and easy money like not-yet-prime canelo. berto, and the worst of all, to get his 50th win , winning against mcgrecor, but totally avoid spence, crawford, thurman, amir khan, etc.

I'll tell you how I feel about Floyd Mayweather TBE just cuz everyone from the age demographic from 40 and up don't like floyd dosnt mean shit. Their so stuck in the past from when they were young and when fighters to them and in the medias perspective were the greatest and now that their old pieces of shit they don't recognize or appreciate that there is a new generation of fighters that's better that their old time favorites in all aspects. When you're old you just don't like it when the new generation of young people are in the spot light and you miss the days when you were young and you thought your generation had the best fighter and it kills them that there's something better real talk! I respect the old fighters but get over it and live in the moment!! Your missing out on what's the best and greatest today!!

@jrcuartz1829 4 жыл бұрын
cuz manny is the most dangerous fight he ever had. he was at his 100% evasion rate, 100% focused, 100% moving. he never underestimated manny, yet he was still get hit hard. his fights against cotto and maidana where he was bloodied? he underestimated those dudes and had to make adjustments on the go. versus manny on the other hand, he had to do 100% to the point that he actually placed spies inside manny's training camp just to have him on the radar 24/7. he also took advantage of his injury by pulling his arm in 2 rounds. he did a lot of research and shady deal against manny. he also took insane amounts of IV rehydration shots to gain slight advantage. it was deemed too high, illegal amounts because it can be used to mask PEDs. . in short he know he can lose, so he took a lot of precautions, and he realized that on the first 6 rounds the bout was even. all his pre-fight preparations and he only were able to even up against manny. but he knows manny was injured. he took advantage of that. and it paid off.

Could've sworn Floyd fought Oscar right before Hatton in the biggest fight in history which earned Floyd about 50 million...but hey what do I know. Floyd was just trying to duck...that's why he moved up to super middleweight to fight the champion (Oscar) and then fought the jr welterweight undefeated champion (Ricky Hatton) and when he came out of retirement he fought the #3 p4p fighter in the world Marquez...smh. You don't know shit about boxing.

Smith is right, Floyd just needs to accept it and move on. But you also have to understand Floyd's emotion. When you work so hard and people don't give you the credit you deserve, you have a right to complain. It's not something to freak out about. Just a tad bit irritating, that's all.

Let the best man win. You hypocrite! Pissed off after getting the majority of seats, pay per view, share in the fight, etc. HBO, ESPN, and some big men of boxing saw THE GREED in Floyd, they just have to convince Manny so the fight will happen. Thanks to the underdog. There is no other boxer NOW who can replace Manny to make this event record breaking. No matter what, we should acknowledge Manny for his contribution to boxing, win or lose.

Mohammed Ali fought multiple fighters on a different level and there were fighters who were far more talented than nowadays, such as your Leonards, Haglers, Robinsons, Fraizers, Lamottas, Ali himself, Norton, Foreman, Tyson, Eubanks, Whereas Floyd has never fought opponents who are on that "great" level, Manny is the only one of his opponents on that level and will be a true test for Floyd.

Hate is hate I understand what Floyd mean he has been ridiculed by white America from the beginning yes Ali went through his hated times and stood for what he believed in but I agree it is no different hate is hate just as sin is sin both have had to deal with white America telling nigga stay in ur place yes I said it! But what make them both great is they fought for what they believed in and challenged white America on not doing what was required but standing for what they believed in Floyd has been defending his himself and still coming up short when it comes to white America Ali was good with them until he became defiant so I get were Floyd is coming from and yet when he beat Manny they will have another reason why they won't respect him. If u Black people can't see this then shame on u cause that mean u r still letting white America control u so hats off to the Ali's and the Floyd's in this world it will let our children know the can be in control of their own lives

I dont really see any mainstream racism directed at Floyd, sure you will always get the morons on the extremes but the mainstream sensible people criticize Floyd because he has cherry picked opponents, for example i dont think he has fought 1 true elite P4P fighter of this era at their peak, and for whatever the reason, its the same here again with Pacman, Now are we to believe Floyd wanted the fights but just couldn't make them, You can buy that with 1, maybe 2 but when we see him consistently not fighting the true elite guys at their absolute peak as a fighter then that argument loses credence, I also don't think they like the arrogance and flaunting of wealth, especially in today's society where the gap between the haves and have not's is wider than ever, plus a lot of fans also find his fighting style very boring to watch. Those are the main reasons in my opinion and his comments about Ali just add to it and the idea he is getting similar treatment in terms of racism, public derision etc, is ludicrous as SA rightly points out. You cannot deny he is a great boxer though, TBE, not even in my top 10 of all time but you have to put him in the conversation as 1 of the ATG's. Where he has been TBE is outside the ring.
@gregormcneill2361
@gregormcneill2361 9 жыл бұрын
***** You sound like one of those morons on the extremes who i was referring to but if your not then try reading the post again slowly as you dont seem to understand it, The true elites of this era are Moseley,Cotto,Pacman,ODH and he has fought them all but not when they were at their absolute peak as fighters. He also couldve and shouldve fought Kosta when he was P4P number 2 and at his peak but didnt as he picked his fights very carefully.
@gregormcneill2361
@gregormcneill2361 9 жыл бұрын
***** Pacman has had well over 60 fights and just recently been KO'ed cold. He is well past his peak now. Floyd has slipped but nowhere near as much as he hasnt been KO'ed, had as many fights or taken as much punishment. In boxing/athletic terms Floyd is the younger/fresher guy here. 09/10 is when both guys were at their absolute best but for whatever reason it didnt happen.
@gregormcneill2361
@gregormcneill2361 9 жыл бұрын
***** Moseley and Cotto were well past their peak as well. Both guys were still good, but nowhere near what they were in their prime, especially Cotto after he had just taken those beating's from Margarito and then Pacman.
@gregormcneill2361
@gregormcneill2361 9 жыл бұрын
***** Algieri is a C class fighter at best and a feather fisted light welterweight with 1 OK win on his record and even then he didnt win that fight in my opinion. Off course Manny is going to look good against him but he had him hurt numerous times and couldnt even finish him. The peak Manny of 09 wouldve demolished him in 1 or 2 rounds as he done with the likes of Hatton. (who was a far better fighter than Algieri). That was just good promoting to try and hype him back up to what he was for a Floyd fight but in reality he is nowhere near and this fight is not as competitive now as it would have been.
@gregormcneill2361
@gregormcneill2361 9 жыл бұрын
***** I have boxed actually but not at a great level, Does that certify my opinion, LOL, Everyone has an opinion regardless but its not exactly rocket science to know Algieri is a C class fighter at best, or who the true elites were off this era or when they were at their peak and last night went exactly as i predicted as Manny is nowhere near what he was, (I still think Floyd probably would have beat him in 2010 at his peak as well but we will never know and you cant call yourself TBE if you haven't beat 1 true elite fighter in your era at their peak, its ridiculous.

Man, what a fucking shill. At the end of the day, who's he to say how Floyd should feel about this? Believe it or not, Floyd IS human. I know, I know, we tend to forget sometimes, but one thing's for sure-Stephen A. Smith isn't a boxing champion. Stephen A. Smith didn't dedicate his whole life to the sport. He sure loves to talk about boxers like he is one though. The guy should take a course in empathy; it's not hard to see why some of Floyd's complaints (for lack of better word) are legitimate.
