I mean, the team had the highest luxury tax for 4 straight seasons. They did do a lot for him already. To be honest, Steph has maybe 3 good seasons left. He has injury issues every other season (so there will probably be one this season). They're trying, but there's only so much they can do. They have a couple of good young players there. Should they mortgage their future for the 2nd round of the playoffs?

It’s really Lauri or bust now for Golden State. It’s really now or never for the Front Office. Curry don’t wanna go out like Dirk or Kobe, to a lesser degree Kobe since he got injured like crazy towards the end. Lauri would pretty much put the Warriors back in contention and are probably a 52+ win team with Lauri. A bonefied 2nd star is the key for this Warriors team. They owe it to Steph to do whatever it takes to get Lauri.

that front office has failed him ever since they won in 2022. they've prioritized trying to stay young and won't make deals for proven talent bc they believe in life after steph and think kuminga is the next mj or something. and it's maddening when steph is still playing at a very high level and could win a title if they just would go for it and get him the second scorer/shot creator they haven't had since draymond punched poole

With JK I think it's more like he didn't have the trade value to bring that back until he broke out last year. But now you're in a position where even if you trade JK for LM you still aren't winning it all and LM will be 27 and shown he can't even take a team to the playoffs as a #1. I agree that they should have traded Wise, JK, and Moody the summer after 22 chip when they all had good value and together could have gotten you something. But that's on Bailout Bob.

That's not true. Their were no great FA available from 2022 til now. The team can't pick up another offensive guy when the problem is Klay isn't the great 3&D player he use to be. Wiggins has reverted to Wolves Wiggins. Poole was bad at defense and also was Steph's backup not Klay's. No good centers were available for a trade they can afford. Also you forget that Klay, Steph, and Draymond used to be the young guys coming up. We can't let that weird coincidence of the new CBA with increased cap space and KD being available as FA trick you into thinking easy deals like that are always available.

Players were letting him get that 60, plus it was his last game so his teammates let him jack up all the shots, and he got hot. Kobe's legacy is the 2000s, period. And his mentality that transcended his play toward the end.

He's just putting pressure on them as he should. He has maybe 3 Very good years left. I wouldn't want to waste them and not even have a chance to compete for a title. When you've won 4 titles you gotta have something to play for to be motivated and if that's not the case then what's the use. I think they should trade him if they can't make this team better

You have to look at two sides of the issue. First, sure Curry would not want to finish his career playing for a bottom feeder. But also, that bottom feeder team does not want to let Curry languish. They would accommodate a trade to a contender to get some assets back for a rebuild.

People keep talking about luxury tax as if Steph didn't make the Warriors the most valuable team in the NBA. The Warriors need to get Steph help or trade him. That young core is not championship caliber and the next era will be ruled by Luka, Ant, and Wemby. Trade whoever you have to, players like Steph don't come around often.

The problem is the ownership. They do not understand basketball. You either re-build or reload. Reloading means you give up drafts and young players. Ownership wanted both. They should have reloaded. None of those high draft picks panned out. Those could have been packaged for players that can deliver now.
