Fantastic version, sir. You are a truly talented musician. Thank you for keeping this great piece of Americana alive. I respect your music and love the fact that you are keeping the music of that great American composer, Stephen Foster, alive. This music is a great part of our American heritage.

SouthernGhost 1865 country music came out of this music, so I easily consider this type of music country music. But to me, today’s country music isn’t country music.

A favorite song of my childhood. I played it on accordion and sang it for my Dad one Christmas. It has always brought a tear to my eye. All the beautiful dogs I have had. Thanks God, thanks Dad, and thanks for posting this great song. PS- I once had a beautiful college male chorus version on a 33 LP. I wish I know who that group was. Amazing stuff.

Beautiful hearing "Old Dog Tray!" again. Wasn't there another verse, "he died at my feet on a cold winter's day, And I played a lament for my old dog, Tray" ? Maybe I'm wrong. Many years since I first heard this lovely old song. Charlie, Aberdeen, Scotland
