I think this is brilliantly written. The dialogue is so rich and engrossing. It breaks my heart that a handful of sickos have made it so inaccessible.

I loved it. The narrator did an awesome job. It was a pleasure listening to it. The story was excellent. From what I heard I expected this to be brutal but it was more like if HBO did the breakfast club.

I remember reading this book. SK actually ordered this one out of print due to many of the school shootings and one of them referencing this book! This book was written decades before all this violence started

Fascinating book that every King fan should read, if only for the insight into his development as a writer since it was one of his earliest works. I read it in high school as part of the Bachman Books collection and never turned into a school shooter as a result, but I respect King's decision to keep it out of print.

They never pulled it off the shelves. King decided not to reissue it in the late 90s. So any copy available would be decades old.

I never knew Stephen King wrote “The Running Man” even under the pseudonym Richard Bachman until I walked into a local Books A Million and saw the novel on the shelf. And it’s interesting that to this day, he will not allow anyone to make a television or film adaptation of this controversial novel unless the people want to get sued big-time by the master of horror and suspense himself.

Ehhh...a bunch of idiots tried to blame Judas Priest back then and OZZY because kids committed suicide too. Entertainers and authors are constantly having to play CYA and the old shield my bank account game from adults with copycat kids trying to make a statement or get noticed. This book was written before the copycat social media trend hit. Besides what in the world would Hollywood make a movie about that isn't violence? But nobody ever tells these kids the reality of life vs the movies or video games. King pulling RAGE and at the same time crying over banning library books and crying over "freedom of art, speech and expression " is hypocritical political bullshit
