Legendary storyteller Stephen King has a new collection of short stories and he's reading the first chapter from the collection for fans. Learn more about If It Bleeds: bit.ly/3ahg6xn
If It Bleeds, offers readers four more works sure to prove as iconic as their predecessors. In the title story, reader favorite Holly Gibney (from the Mr. Mercedes trilogy and The Outsider) must face her fears, and possibly another outsider-this time on her own. In “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone” an intergenerational friendship has a disturbing afterlife. “The Life of Chuck” explores, beautifully, how each of us contains multitudes. And in “Rat,” a struggling writer must contend with the darker side of ambition.

Can't wait for this one... Haven't missed one of his since 1977, when a friend gave me a book called Salem's Lot. I was a young woman, pregnant with my second child. My husband was out playing poker one evening, so I put my young son to bed and sat down for a quiet little read. I ended up phoning my husband to come home because I had to go to the bathroom and I was too scared to walk through the house alone! Now I'm 66, and have been a Constant Reader my whole adult life. What would we do without these books?? Looking forward to another wild ride...Stay safe everyone.

I remember being 16, 1984-ish, and reading Salem’s Lot late at night. I was absolutely terrified. I was sleeping over at my boyfriend’s (his parents were VERY progressive) and kept “accidentally” kicking him to wake him up because I was also scared to go to the bathroom by myself. Danny Glick was certain to be hanging out in front of the bathroom window...

I grow up with this guy's books! I live in iran and I couldn't access his works when I was younger, but I didn't give up and I managed to read his masterpieces. Until about 7 years ago everything changed! I bought a kindle paperwhite(yeah, it's still working) and I read all of his works on it! Actually I learnt english from his books! And every one of his works are very special and personal to me and in the time period that I was reading them my life was like the stories in his books too! Somehow his characters resonate with me a lot! The last time that I could imagine myself in his work was a few month ago when Iran regime shut down the internet and was busy killing its own people I could imagine myself living in his book "Under the dome"! I could feel how exactly felt the characters in that novel. I love this guy, he's awesome, and I hope someday I can live in america and I buy all of his books legally, because I can't buy his books here in iran. Sorry stephen, I had to resort to piracy to read your books! But I promise as soon as I could live in a free country, I will buy all of your works!

It's become my favorite book! I love Pennywise and I hope that he does a proper sequel (i know that he and Maturin the Turtle appear in other books. I'm on book three of the dark tower) But if he could return to the shining, then he might with it

That was about the best birthday present I could ask for, next to meeting him in person! I'm getting this book A.S.A.P! Thanks For Doing This Mr Stephen King! Amazing!

If you're reading The Stand for the first time, might I suggest you watch the original movie, afterwards (NOT the new mini series that's coming out soon)... you'll fall in love with the characters all over again ❤❤❤ except maybe Molly Ringwald, unless you like really love her as an actress... kind of like the original IT movie versus the newly remade version.

Mr. King, the first book I read was Christine when I was twelve. I'm a constant reader every since and am now 46. I absolutely adore Holly Gibney. The truth is, no one is capable of writing a book that I'm thinking about at work, can't wait to get to my reading time in the evening. What a time to be alive at the same time as Stephen King!

I am so back logged on King still. I was a casual reader, yet to reach that coveted "Constant" distinction. I randomly picked up "11/22/63" at the store one day, it just sounded so different than the stories I had read from him at that point. I was absolutely hooked and spotted some certain references to a book with a terrible clown that I had read prior. Naturally that led me to Google and I was shocked to learn that he had created his own multi-verse. I made it a mission to read every last thing he has released--- In order of publication. Lord, I did not realize just how dense this man's bibliography was. This led me on a very expensive hunt of tracking down his works retroactively--- Me being me, I needed everything as a true first edition/first pressing. I just wrapped up "Duma Key" and I feel like he just keeps front loading my reading list. Thank you, Mr. King for all of your work. Eventually i'll make it to this one and I'm sure by then you'll have released another 5-10 pieces of work on me. Until then, this one will be sitting on the shelf waiting for me to catch up.

I am a Constant Reader since 1974, but this is the first time I heard Stephen King read his work!! It's just awesome listening to him read his own book. And what a perfect time for him to release a new book. I'll start reading my copy of "It Bleeds" this evening. Thank you Stephen King!

I can't stand her character. She's even worse in print than she is on screen (TV). I couldn't get through Mr. Mercedes or Finders Keepers. Awful, awful writing and an awful, awful character. Whatever touch SK once had is now gone. He'll never write another Stand or another Green Mile or another Misery. I'll skip this one and wait for his next work. Hopefully it has some original content.
