What daily devotional do y’all recommend?
@67624987 күн бұрын
Not a devotional proper but Kevin DeYoung Daily Doctrine, is a daily Systematic Theology. Its really good. But other good devotional's are the The Puritans: Daily Readings by Pederson or Daily Readings - the Early Church Fathers by Needham.

Let's see if EM can redeem themselves after the slanderous debacle of crazy german guy. Having Wolfe on is a good start.
Y’all are rabid. The channel apologised for posting that…and you’re saying “let’s see if they can redeem themselves” ? That’s not Christian behaviour.
@ratchet-z3d23 күн бұрын
@@Spurgeon_General they were right to repent and seek forgiveness for what they did. I would not engage with their channel *at all* if they had not. But I'm still unsubscribed and I'm still cautious. That was a very serious error. I do not take what happened or their part in it lightly.

@@ratchet-z3d And now YOU need to repent for bringing up something wrong they did when they owned up to their error. They don’t need to “redeem themselves” for something they already publicly repented of. That is unchristian behavior on your part.

These ideas are not Christian and definitely not American. Also, why is the GOP going to Hungary all the time?

Wolfe is a political scientist first and theologian about 12th I have little concerns for what he thinks about theology I trust him about as much as I do James Lindsay …. As in no trust at all

@landonmiller33822 күн бұрын
His knowledge of the Reformed tradition certainly qualifies as theological knowledge.
@EmissariesoftheGospel22 күн бұрын
@landonmiller338 not really. Theological knowledge necessitates being tethered to elevating descripture. Has authoritative and true and informative? Above all, other forms of revelation. And it entails putting God's law. Above all other theory and practice of law.

Wolfe doesn’t really understand ethics or justice. He overvalues convenience, preference and expediency and gives weight and authority to those and our human fallible perception of our experiences over Scripture. Even here, he seemed to talk out of both sides of his mouth.
@jermoosekek110122 күн бұрын
Honest question, are you theonomic?
@EmissariesoftheGospel22 күн бұрын
@jermoosekek1101 of course. It's the biblical position. Once you abandon that, anything goes. Also, if you abandon that, you can't be upset with political outcomes.

@BavinckGuy I have. I've also listened to his podcasts extensively and spoken with other brothers, ministers, and pastors who follow Wolfe. What I said holds true. Once you set up one or a handful of historical figures as the authority, then you've left the foundation of Scripture. Same with natural law advocacy.

Because Stephen Wolfe is a political scientist, I would be interested to hear his take on the failure of the 18th Amendment--Prohibition.

Prohibition was a feminist movement. He would be against it.

Do you think Wolfe is intentionally lying about postmil starting a few minutes short of the hour mark, or is he really that ignorant?

Loves Stephen’s thinking but “Christian Prince” is a bad idea. Would love to see CN learn and embrace Distributism.
