The closure we needed to hear from Shannon and the amount of respect I have for him quadrupled. Really gave us an eye opener and understanding life in FS1 and His relationship with skip. Shannon done made it look on television for 6yrs and a half like him and skip were Best friends only to hear it was all work related and no friendship outside of work. Dam. Such an amazing interview. I appreciate the difficult questions and the way Shannon went about responding. I think a lot of us act like Skip and Shannon: Undisputed didn't work. It did, they were on the air for 7 years! That's a long time and bringing it to an end and moving on can be a necessary thing. It's unfortunate how it ended, but it was a very successful show. Now we have Shannon with Steven A. and it's great and it's refreshing for everyone and that's not a bad thing.

Growing up in Texas as a man who is half Peruvian, half white, I can relate to Shannon’s experience in life to a point. He is an inspiration to a lot of us who grew up in poverty to grow as men and become leaders in society. I would have thought that Skip, coming from OKC would have been more respectful to Shannon, but I don’t know what he was thinking in that moment. What I do know is this, my mother always told me that, “if you give respect, you get respect back. If you don’t, then they are not worth your effort.” She came to this country from Peru. She and I both experienced racism to a degree, hell my father caught flack for marrying and fathering a son with a Hispanic woman. He didn’t care what anyone said because he loved my mother and he loved me. Before he passed, he got to see undisputed and he said that while he could relate to skip more than Shannon, he wanted to understand Shannon more because there was something special about him. Thanks Unc. You may not know it, but you were a big part of my later relationship with my father, and I am grateful for that.

I can’t tell you how impressive he is as a person and I would love for Shannon Sharpe to one day speak to my employees about how to handle yourself in life and in business. This is the best interview that Stephen A has ever done and the most honest take that he has ever done. I want to meet you Shannon Sharpe and see how I can do business with you. Much respect

I appreciate you guys, Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe for sharing this career experience with us. As a college educated black male executive in corporate America, Shannon’s experience hits close to home. I am extremely grateful for Shannon as a great leader and example of career excellence. Just because Black men/ women are successful doesn’t mean that we don’t deal with systemic racism, the wealth gap in media, the inequality of American history regarding race relations and most importantly the lack of empathy for our differences. This is also why Family Governance and Dynamics is are so important for our race.
@comradeyuri1
@comradeyuri1 Жыл бұрын
You know when you start off with as a black male. That is the basis of your topic there of making your comment about race that is the very root of what racism is. You don't have to talk down upon another race for something to be racist. Your opening sentence as an example no-one really thinks anything of it...that's "black privilege btw" but if someone else was to say "As a college educated white male executive in corporate America Skips experience hits close to home" wed be ready to track the posters social medias and get them fired for being racist. One can talk about being a black man freely but if someone wants to share there accomplishments for being a white man they can not without backlash for racism when its the exact same thing. Until people can put aside differences short comings or accomplishments without race being tossed in, racism will last long after the world is completely mixed.

@@comradeyuri1I don’t agree with what you’ve just typed mainly the second part about a white male that’s completely false lol maybe some internet trolls will do that but not just anyone and as a black male myself EVERYTHING is about racial discrepancy and if you’re not of a brown dark brown specifically you and ppl like you are the ones we talk about when we make these kinds of statements until you’re honest with yourself that black men in general are not privileged and there’s no such thing as fucking black privilege we are not all equal in this damn country and after you get at peace with that fact then you’ll not say your first statement either all respect to your opinion tho but I don’t agree with it and I believe that’s false

@@comradeyuri1him starting it off “as a black male” is extremely valid. You can’t ask him to not mention his race when it’s been mentioned historically and presumably personally in his life. In a place where a certain race of people were widely considered 3/5 of a human you can’t just say it’s not embedded. Refusing to acknowledge or talk about it doesn’t make it go away. Not talking about the flu or a sickness doesn’t make the symptoms go away quicker. Black people couldnt use certain bathrooms only 60 years ago. That’s our parents/grandparents.

The problem I have with Skip is that he’s NEVER apologetic when he’s wrong. He disrespected his former co host Shannon Sharpe and was never apologetic for what he said. He also said the game should’ve been finished out after Damar Hamlin’s life threatening injury and was unapologetic for that as well. He doesn’t hold himself accountable for nothing he says. He says something, whether right or wrong he stands by it. These networks allow him to get away with it. So therefore there’s never any consequences for his actions. SMH

@@kacysmith4060 You right, but he questioned how is the NFL going to make the game up. He said that game was too important. Baically just disregarded the severity of the situation. Skip didn't show empathy for that man's life or death situation. It was like him basically saying I feel bad for what happened to him, but the Football game is important. Playoff implications on the line. Keep in mind the timing he said it. The life or death situation had just happened LIVE on TV when he said it on his Twitter feed.
