We could not have a normal life with friends, family, etc. So many secrets. No prom, no sleep overs at the house, no friends could visit. My Mom stayed...she was poor and unskilled. When my father finally died in his 60s of pancreatic cancer...well, I didn't much care. Both my brother and I are emotionally damaged. My brother is now a homeless alcoholic who never married no kids. I am in recovery of alcoholism and eating disorders 15 years. I now work as an RN for last 15 years. I never married nor had children either. The PTSD is deep and profound. These men destroy lives.

I waited until he went to take a shower after beating me up and I tiptoed out the house. I went to the bus stop but a block down from where I usually went. The bus was a block away and I saw him coming down the street and panicked. He told me don't get on that bus. People were getting on and I didn't move then the bus was about to pull off I ran to it and was banging on the door. Thank God the driver opened the door and I got on. I was safe and on my way home. There were many other times as well but videos like this or seeing it happen in front of me triggers me and I always step in and try to help the woman or have some words with the so called man. Real men don't do this. Men like this would never think of putting their hands on another man because they know it will be a knock down drag down. Men are much stronger and bigger and I won't condone it or just watch. I'm going to try getting the woman away. Last year on my birthday a woman was screaming help me and stop across the hall from me and I stepped in. She was naked on the floor. I told her to come over to my apt. She was bleeding really bad. I called the cops but someone else called first and I heard them in the hall. The girl came out with me and my neighbors were asking me if I was alright. I said yes then started crying because it upset me alot. I instantly thought back to all the butt kickings I endured and the memories and emotional turmoil was so overwhelming.
