When Ste got out of jail, he went back to the village and went to Amy.. when he saw she had a daughter he asked if Leah was his and Amy said no.. so he knew right from the start, he only said that to Mike so he wouldn't throw him out.

I saw that, but since everything about Ste previous to 2010 on youtube it's a bit choppy and there are so many episodes that we don't even have on youtube I figured she had lied to Ste after that conversation in the boiler room :)

Mike's later selfishness essentially set the events in motion for Sarah's death, so he's got a nerve criticising Ste.

I know that, but there was a time Ste believed she was his, wasn't there? Cause he told Mike he was Leah's dad, so I'd figure Amy lied to Ste at some point that he was the real father.
