Also; thank you for including "your favourite runner" and I in your video, we were a lot slower than you be we got to the end for our medal and to complete the first one of "the slam". Hopefully see you at more events in the future now you are an ultra runner. Food tip to try: mashed potato in reusable squeeze pouches or salted/loaded potato wedges/skins are amazing!

Well done. Welcome to the club of crazy people ;-) watch out for the dehydration, it can make you hallucinate - which was sooo much fun! But also poses a problem at checkpoints - if they see you running all bent over to one side, a clear indication that all is not well, they might pull you from the race. So you need to straighten up and run right, until you get around the corner, and then go back to being hunched over for the next 30kms ;-) I've never run a flat race. It sounds like it would be fun for the first hour or so, and then the repetitiveness would be the hardest thing to deal with. So well done you. you did a big hard thing and were still smiling at the end. Looking forward to the next one ;-)

Congratulations on smashing that one Stephen, great to meet you finally after enjoying your videos for the last 9 months or so, we were sat back in the pub when you got rained on, we did feel for you! Glad you enjoyed the Squashies, I hunted the shops for ages to get the Rhubarb and Custard ones rather than the bog standard ones! Anne and I did the Malvern Hills Ultra 45 miler on Saturday, I booted a rock and broke my big toe after less than 5 miles, didn' t realise I'd done so much damage until I changed a sock at 31 miles. Felt sick when I saw the mess. Anne came 7th in just under 9 hours, and I hobbled in, in 9th position out of 48 competitors. Im sticking to the bike now ha ha!

However, I've not been able to buy anything as they are constantly out of stock and take months to restock. Its literally that meme of take my money! But i'm unable to spend it 🤣 Also a tip for future runs . Have a look into Zone 2 training. And regarding nutrition. You'll find you need a specific amount of Calories per hour. I've found having a tesco finest Flapjack (full of seeds fruit etc), 2 baby bells and a clif bloc worked really well. Thats about 400-500 calories. I refuse to use gels as I've seen what happens. 😂

Well done, great achievement 💪 Reminds me of riding Audax although 10hrs running is probably more difficult than 10hrs cycling! I found conflicting articles on the protein for energy topic, included it as it sounded interesting. Maybe should have dug deeper. Definitely your body will use protein once everything else runs out. But I’d been told previously that sometimes the body will burn muscle before fat. Need to figure out where I heard that now!
