Of course I watched them all! I visited Islay in 1985. Something about that place has always stuck with me. The whole Hebrides did. Around 98 or so I went to the Faroe Islands with my daughter, That's another place that's easily in my top five favorite places.
All four done. As if I’d miss one! Thoroughly enjoyable as always.

ah, that second morning of a wild camp, usually third or fourth sip of black coffee, the alert goes out, '' all hands on deck''... the mind races, scans landscape from memory, looking for a hidden nook.... ''man the life boats''... the hunt gets more frantic, re-looking at rejected spots... grading them according to how hidden versus hidden from people coming or going... then the rush, '' away the life boats'' and you sit there, too relieved to care if somebody comes up the path. everyman for himself.
@StephenJReid Жыл бұрын
😂 haha yeah it’s the tipping point where you just stop caring and the first suitable spot will do

I did watch all three vids and I might give the gear one a go tomorrow. It seems a nice trip and I might attempt it in my wee camper van. I appreciate the blurring of the eviscerated bunny rabbit ... and although I've never given it a thought up to this point now I will always wonder about my favorite KZbin campers pooing in nature! My wife is from Glasgow so we plan to retire somewhere in the Highlands and I really look forward to visiting the Western Isles. Thanks for the adventure!

Cow parsley and hemlock look almost identical, but the way to tell them apart, is that hemlock has little red streaks down the stem. I remember reading a story in the 1970's (yes, I'm an old git) where two Danish botanists came for a wild camp in Britain and ended up in hospital because they made a wild 'organic soup' using what they assumed was 'wild celery'. Botanists, eh?

Just wondering if you had any tips on battery power & consumption? I'm planning a near 2 year expedition going through all 15 national parks and was going to take a fold out solar power device & 2 30k power banks, using my phone to record & edit etc. But the equipment you have is just on another level, how do you keep it all going for so long? You're a brilliant cameraman btw, every shot is so clean.
@StephenJReid Жыл бұрын
Thanks! 🙂 I brought 2 batteries for my mirrorless camera, 4 for my GoPro and 3 for my drone. Also was carrying a 20,000mAh powerbank that charged up my drone batteries once and one of the other cameras. Had a small magnetic powerbank for phone. Still made sure to try and only have the camera on when filming and to shoot in short segments if possible. Rationed my batteries out over the days too. I considered a solar panel but figured I’d be better with a bigger power bank for this trip. I think the only option for a longer trip is going to be solar but I haven’t tried yet.
